The much anticipated showdown between Australia's Mack Horton and his great rival Sun Yang will now not happen after Yang failed to qualify for the men's 1500 metres freestyle final.
China's world record holder and defending Olympic 1,500 metres freestyle champion struggled badly and failed to qualify for the finals on Friday night.
Yang, who has already won a 200m freestyle gold and 400m silver, was only 16th fastest overall with the top eight going through to Saturday's final.

I know you guys may feel happy to say things like "he definitely took drug" or "this time he doesn't have time to take drug so he lose", but there's one thing which is not reported in this article that Yang was having a serious flu from yesterday. He was considering giving up even before the match began.
