Rio Olympics: Rupinder, Raghunath help India beat Ireland 3-2 in hockey opener
RIO DE JANEIRO: Rupinder Pal Singh struck twice as drag-flickers ruled the roost to help India register a fighting 3-2 win over Ireland in their opening match of the men’s hockey competition at the Olympics, here on Saturday.
This time we need to move in hockey with a cool mind and to plan. We cannot afford to lose any match.
No medal after 1980. Result of too much being spent on cricket. All the best to hockey team.
Stop making excuses, pathetic display like this. Against Ireland, we barely survive, and you India to spend to spend money on these buffoons, for what?
Don”t spend money on cricket either, money saved should be used to improve the infrastructure which is falling apart all over.
exactly! National sport Hokey was completely ignored for last 30 years.
Naturally, with such pathetic display against a country 1,000 times smaller than India and buffoons barely make it.
Indians are only good at only games played by mouth or the tool between their legs
You are absolutely right Not only Hockey but other sports could have been developed. Its the peoples mindset. They watch cricket and worship cricketers as gods.
GOD help us.

Well begun is half done…keep it up and go on to win the Gold in Rio…….!
Best of luck but at this performance level let”s see how far we can go as the game progresses
3-2 against Ireland is not a great result. Hopefully we will play better against the better recognised teams.
hope India brings gold in hockey. all the best..Chak De ..chak de India
