‘Prompt & professional’: China thanks India for swift rescue of fire-hit cargo ship off Kerala coast, wishes success for further operations

NEW DELHI: China has expressed gratitude to Indian authorities for their prompt and professional response after a massive fire broke out on board the Singapore-flagged cargo vessel MV Wan Hai 503 off the Kerala coast, which was carrying 14 Chinese crew members.
The incident, which occurred on June 9, has left four crew members missing and five injured, while 18 others have been rescued.
“Of the total 22 crew members on board, 14 are Chinese, including 6 from Taiwan,” Chinese Embassy spokesperson Yu ing posted on X, thanking the Indian Navy and Mumbai Coast Guard for their rescue efforts. “We wish further search operations successful and the injured crew members a speedy recovery,” the statement added
新德里：一艘悬挂新加坡国旗的货船“万海503号”（MV Wan Hai 503）在印度喀拉拉邦沿海发生大火，船上载有14名中国船员。中国对印度当局迅速专业的救援响应表达了感谢，并祝愿后续救援行动取得成功。
该事件于6月9日发生，目前造成4名船员失踪、5人受伤，另有18人获救。中国大使馆发言人余静在社交平台X上发文称：“船上22名船员中，14人为中国籍，包括6名中国台湾地区船员。”她感谢印度海军和孟买海岸警卫队的救援努力，并补充道：“我们祝愿后续搜救行动顺利，受伤船员早日康复。”
Thanking India for its rescue efforts, Chinese Embassy spokesperson Yu ing posted on X, "On June 9, MV Wan Hai 503 encountered onboard explosion and fire 44 nautical miles off Azhikkal, Kerala. Of the total 22 crew members on board, 14 are Chinese, including 6 from Taiwan. Our gratitude goes to the Indian Navy @indiannavy and the Mumbai Coast Guard for their prompt and professional rescue. We wish further search operations successful and the injured crew members speedy recovery.
The explosion occurred while the vessel was en route from Colombo to Nhava Sheva near Mumbai. According to the Indian Coast Guard, the fire started mid-ship and spread towards the container bay ahead of the accommodation block.
Though the forward bay fire has been contained, thick smoke continues to billow and the ship is now listing 10–15 degrees to port. Several containers have also gone overboard.

My opinion is that no need to send several ships to extinguish fire when a ship caught fire. submersible pumps with floating solar panel can be used for extinguish the fire. solar panel will charge the battery. these types of pumps should be stored in the ships. With AI technology it will work efficiently.
