Saudi Arabia has backed India’s call for reforms to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) after the United States once again vetoed a resolution seeking immediate ceasefire in Gaza. “There is a need now more than ever to reform the Security Council to carry out its responsibilities in maintaining international peace and security with credibility and without double standards,” Saudi Arabia’s foreign ministry said in a statement. India has been repeatedly calling for expansion of the UNSC, and challenged the hegemony of the five permanent members.

在美国再次否决一项要求加沙立即停火的决议后，沙特阿拉伯支持印度对联合国安理会进行改革的呼吁。沙特阿拉伯外交部在一份声明中表示：“现在比以往任何时候都更有必要改革安理会，以可信、没有双重标准的方式履行其维护国际和平与安全的职责。”

That reform must include, ASEAN, African, Arabs, Turkey, and South American countries in the veto-weilding powers. A majority vote cannot also be over- ride by just 1 country. That is the most absurd stand that the UNSC has.
