Oxygen beds filling up with Covid cases, Hyderabad health department on possible spike alert
HYDERABAD: After a brief lull in Covid-19 cases across Hyderabad’s hospitals and the districts, oxygen beds are again getting occupied with coronavir s patients, raising worries of another spike. While the daily count has fallen below 1,000 cases, active caseload is at 10,000 cases and 4073 people are still battling for their lives in hospitals.
On Wednesday, a dozen hospitals in the city alone said they have a sizable number of patients on oxygen and added that the patient count was rising. “Some hospitals don’t have beds, as we have been waiting for the go nment to come up with a mutually agreeable tariff rate. But since there is new spike in cases, the beds will begin to fill up and so all issues need to be resolved for the sake of people,” Dr Kishan Rao, presi nt of Telangana Hospitals and Nursing Home Association (THANA) said.
The latest hospital occupancy details show that among the major Covid-19 treatment centres in the state, the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) has all beds in all categories occupied, including 50 oxygen beds. Gandhi Hospital has 30 new patients being treated.
“Looking at the spike in cases and admissions, the go nment has postponed its decision to begin non Covid-19 services in the hospital,” said a health department offi al. At the Chest Hospital, 14 are admitted in oxygen beds, while at King Koti hospital, 39 persons are taking oxygen treatment.
The go nment-run ESI hospital also has 10 patients on oxygen treatment and there are another half a dozen private hospitals in city with sizeable number patients on oxygen beds. The bed scenario is worrisome, especially in Khammam where all the private hospitals are occupied. Reliable sources informed that more than 100 beds are occupied in Khammam’s go nment hospital. The occupancy of intensive care unit (ICU) beds has gone up slightly in Nizbad too.
If lockdown is initiated all blame will come on Govt. where as it is the citizens who are responsible for this.
Time for another lockdown ?
Bro we cannot afford lockdown every time. the sried people can work from home and earn their livings buts thats not possible for other business class people.People should act as responsible citizen.they should adhere to covid norms and go nment should speed up vaccination so that if they get infected also it wont be danger for their life.
LDs are temporary measures. Long term is sterilization.
People are quickly forgetting the oxygen crisis and deaths of 2nd wave and not following Covid-appropriate behaviour. Until there is more vaccination coverage, people should follow all precautions seriously and at all times but since people don't listen, so govt will have no choice but to start strict lockdowns again
Need to blame only the people for this. Unless the people co-operate with the go nment, nothing can be done in controlling the vir s spread.
Only we are to be blamed! If the basic is not followed by ppl then even god cannot save us.
seems state by state the counts are increasing again. wave 3 seems making rapid progress!
Go nment cannot be blamed for this.its the public to be blamed they need to be responsible and act wisely .no publice will not follow covid rules and when cases increase then all will blame go nment and ask for compensation. third wave will be invited by people only.
In the picture, most beds are vacant.
Basic commonsense is lacking in the people. Third wave is on the horizon for sure. Not much can be done when we have a careless and incompetent govt.
Telengana Govt KCR was the first who abandoned COVID rules and restrictions in his state. Irresponsible and money minded Govt will only risk the life of their citizen.
People who have to leave home for work have no other option but people who can stay at home and work please avoid going out unnecessarily. We need to stand together with the govt. in defeating this Chinese vir s and together we can do it for sure.
ADVANCE ARRANGE FOR 3RD WAVE.
We should realise atleast now. If we go on neglecting covid protocal we may again land up in big problem. it is the duty of all of us to ensure that third wave should be kept away from India
All please be careful, it's not the time to relax, exercise precaution while travelling or local movement.
Daily more than 45,000 new cases, and we idiotic Indians think that we have conquered corona. Lockdowns are taking place in many countries which see about 50 to 200 cases. Wake up Indians.
We need to be extra vigilant..
T-Govt Health ,Home Departments should take necessary action on inelegance of citizens not wearing mask and not maintain covid 19 rules.
Second wave of Covid-19 is still not finished but signals of 3rd wave are coming.
