2026 Spring Festival Gala: A heartwarming celebration of humanity and cultural heritage

2026年春晚：一场彰显人文温情与文化传承的暖心盛宴

This year's Spring Festival Gala, an annual celebration produced and broadcast by China Media Group, commenced on Feb 16, the eve of the Chinese New Year, as Chinese people worldwide celebrated the Spring Festival, the most important Chinese festival centering on family reunions.

Known as "Chunwan," the gala, the first since China's Spring Festival was inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, has not only continued its tradition as the must-watch show for Chinese families on Chinese New Year's Eve since 1983 but also reached new heights in showcasing human warmth and cultural heritage.

今年由中央广播电视总台制作播出的年度盛会——春节联欢晚会，于2月16日除夕夜正式启幕。春节是中华民族最重要的节日，以阖家团圆为核心，全球中华儿女共庆佳节。

这场被称作“春晚”的盛会，是中国春节入选联合国教科文组织人类非物质文化遗产代表作名录后的首届春晚。自1983年起，春晚便成为中国家庭除夕夜必看的节目；本届晚会既延续了这一传统，又在展现人文温情与传承文化底蕴方面实现了新的突破。

India and China really have more in common with each other than they do with the west. They were separate by the Himalayas but they knew of each other and heavily influenced each other. They were also great manufacturing hubs in the world long before the industrial revolution. And of course they were both subjugated by western powers, here is where I think India still has some more work to do to cast off its colonial shackles which penetrated much deeper than in China.
