GENEVA: The World Health Organization warned Friday that Europe was now the "epicentre" for the global coronavirus pandemic and reporting more daily cases than did at the height of its outbreak.

日内瓦：世界卫生组织周五警告称，欧洲现在是全球新冠肺炎大流行的“中心”，每日报告的新增确诊病例比在疫情高峰时期报告的还要多。

"Europe has now become the epicentre of the pandemic," WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said in a virtual press conference, describing the more than 5,000 deaths worldwide as "a tragic milestone".
