Finally the government has understood that liabilities taken on under CPEC can bankrupt Pakistan and now trying to snare other countries to join in, thereby attempting to spread the burden. Very wise move but not sure that many will take the bait. Even if they agree to invest in some project, they may like the Chinese ensure tough contracts to guarantee their returns.

Good step indeed, but on the other hand if we are not able to benefit of our closest neighbor Iran in terms of fuel, energy and PIP project, we are helplessly succumbed to US interest, that is in complete sync with Saudi version.

Nothing comes for free. You want Saudi investment, so certainly they would be eyeing their share. China already has ambitious plans to capture everything under the ambit of CPEC for their country's Govt. owned firms & at present, they don't have shortage of funds to invest too....would they be ready to share the platform?..China doesn't want shareholders but customers with heavy debt only.

China has consistently encouraged other countries to be part of CPEC so I don’t think they will be upset at all with the news that Saudis have come forward and want to invest into this project, In fact the only country which will be very upset about this is India, they must be seething that within the first few weeks of the new government in Pakistan all the major players in the region are in total agreement with Pakistan as to how to move forward and work towards peace and prosperity in the region.
