厦门聚会：驱车前往湄洲岛

Chapter Five, A Road Trip to Meizhou Island

Mr. Bakshi once told me and also wrote in his blogs, it was after going to China for work that he came to understand the nonsense of Shanghai and Beiing being some mere showcases of China.

This day was New Year Eve, the day before Goat/Sheep's Year. People were going home or in most cases already staying at home. Thanks to Mr. Xu, the organiser of the gathering, he drove Mr. and Mrs. Bakshi all the way to an island called Meizhou 200km away where the ancestral temple of Mazu is located.

第五篇湄洲岛自驾游

Navneet曾经对我说，也曾经在博文中写道，正是去中国工作后，他才明白北京和上海是中国的样板城市是胡说的。

当天是除夕，也就是羊年的前一天。人们纷纷返乡过年。多亏了这次聚会的组织者徐先生，他开车带Navneet夫妇前往200公里之外的湄洲岛。
