In 165 countries, China's Beidou eclipses American GPS navigation system!
As we all know, the GPS navigation system in the United States has been commercialized very early, and has achieved quite good results through out the world. Therefore, for a long time in the past, the US GPS navigation system has been a well-deserved industry leader in the field of global navigation systems. For the United States, they are very willing to achieve hegemony by taking the lead in a certain field. So, by virtue of its lead in navigation systems, the United States often cuts off other countries' signals. China, of course, is one of them. In order to get rid of this situation, China has been develo its own satellite navigation system since 1994.
In 2000, the domestic satellite navigation system Beidou Navigation System came into being. It is undeniable that at the begng of the Beidou navigation system, there was a big gap compared with the GPS. However, after decades of investment in research and development, China's satellite navigation system has now begun to overtake the United States, and GPS has also ushered in its biggest competitor, the Beidou navigation system.
So, how big is the gap between Beidou and GPS today? In addition to being used in the military, Beidou system, as 'the biggest' aerospace program that China has ever undertaken, what other applications can it have in life?
The creation of Bei Dou was triggered by the US... Because the US can misuse its GPS making myself GPS untrustworthy...
The team that developed the Beidou system were well aware of the dishonesty of the UasSA and proudly achieved an excellent system that will overtake the GPS system. Now and even before China does not need a balloon to spy on the UasSA. The BDS is more accurate than the GPS.
I like Beidou
The microchips on those satellites are made by American technology.
And the Chinese satellite is built by Japan and Korea
Technology is not only meant for America, everybody can build their own.
This is not a threat. It is called choice and competition.
I’m from South East Asia, we always face problem from American to temporary switch off their GPS and causing our ship lost direction in the sea frequently. Luckily China help us to solve the problem. GPS is not serving the world, it serve American only, on the other hand, China is the only country show hel hand.
Nobody on the ship knows how to use check the stars or use a sextant for navigation?
Sure, I'd use any system available if the one I was relying upon was no longer reliable. I just thought that the crews of ocean-going ships would still fallback on old time-tested methods of navigation.
A Filipino- American invented the GPS...from what i know he is working in California Tech City. Now, we have Super Generator that does not use fuel, Battery, LNG, Oil, Coal etc. The thing is we dont know when this Generator will be introduced to the world. This Generator is a threat to big time Businessman...they will be wipe out ang go bunkcrupt.
China hel hand ? You must be kidding !
@jpcaretta8847 Throwing bombs like the US?
@jpcaretta8847 China actually helps lots of countries, you do not know because your media is not reporting to you.
China’s initial investment of billions of dollars in the Galileo project aimed at collaboration, but the US influenced Europe to exclude China, prompting the development of China’s own navigation system. A similar trend unfolded with China’s space station. Despite facing sanctions, China’s determination led to notable advancements, strengthening the country in these domains. Now, a similar pattern is emerging in the Chinese chip industry, resembling the recurring narrative seen in the story of Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan.
It’s so funny. US ban China from using its GPS , China develops it own. US says it is not Fair!
The United States always tries to manipulate other countries with its own technology. When other countries develop independently, the United States will say angrily, "This is a threat and ambition!" "
Can't agree more, you nail to the right point.
It's always good to have more diverse systems, and not reliance on a single one. Its beneficial to everyone to have multiple systems available for all to use.
It is good to see that GPS has a strong competitor instead of being monopolized by GPS. China has given many other countries an option to disperse political and military risks.
When China approaches the United States, the United States always says that China is threatening the United States, which is really shameless
Everything that challenges US hegemony is a threat to them
China has multitude of talents and brains and resources..they are proactive, goal and result-oriented thus they can achieve a lot in many areas of development
US uses GPS as a tool. During India Pakistan Kargil war of 1999 USA refused Indian Army access to GPS. This made even Indians realized that they should have their own GPS. Thus they have launched NAVIC using 8 satellites which covers India and 1500 KM around it
I’m sorry that US isn’t building GPS for the world.
When a Chinese ship in the Indian Ocean refused inspection by US Navy, the GPS was turned off on the Chinese ship. It took the ship 4 additional days to reset its location. The Chinese gave $200 million to participate on the European Galileo, but was kicked out. Thus, the Chinese developed her own system. However, the commentators completely avoided mentioning the unethical actions of the West.
usa rejected gps for india in 1999 war so india devloped own regional navigational system which will serve 1500 km around india usa is main reason for other navigational systems
It’s called de-risking.
Lets not forget Russia also has their own version of GPS ... doesn't really mean anything that China has it honestly. With how accessible space is getting, I would venture to say in a few decades we can see more countries have their own versions as well
Somehow, while Chinas GPS is seen as a "threat", the Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS) has quietly slipped under the radar and not seen as a threat!
India has the right to develop their own GPS!
Not only china but india also launched its navigation system called NAVIC currently has 8 satellite covering entire china india pakistan Afghanistan iran myanmar Indonesia and entire Indian Ocean and there was future plan to expend it's reach to Europe and usa as well
