One of the strongest storms in China in years brought torrential rainfall and widespread flooding to the north of the country. More than 52,000 people have been evacuated from Beiing. Footage shared on social media showed vehicles being carried by fast-flowing flood water as bridges collapse and rivers swell. Authorities said there was a risk of further floods.
