First direct freight train from Beiing to Europe arrives in Moscow

A freight train from the Chinese capital Beiing, loaded with 55 containers, arrived at the Belerast Railway Station in Moscow Oblast after a 16-day journey. The first direct China-Europe freight train service from Beiing, it traveled 9,000 kilometers, carried clothing, household electrical appliances, construction materials and other goods. It departed from the logistic hub of inggu District in Beiing on March 16, exted China from the Manzhouli Port in the northern Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and arrived two days earlier than expected.
一列来自中国首都北京的货运列车,满载55个集装箱,经过16天的旅程,抵达莫斯科州的别拉斯特火车站。首列中欧班列从北京直达,行程9000公里,运送服装、家用电器、建筑材料和其他货物。列车于3月16日从北京平谷区的物流枢纽出发,从内蒙古自治区北部的满洲里港离开中国,比预期提前两天抵达。

ship would take similar 17 days if not more, also russian waters are not always accessible and its a frieght train, it have a lot more potential to upgrade and expand than airplanes or chips

I watched the video on this train when it left Beiing for Moscow. 16 days later it arrived at Moscow. In between I saw several train derailments from the US. In 2022 US had a total of at least 1,164 train derailments and so averaged 3 per day. Has US standard been applied to China and Russia then this video's freight train would have derailed 48 times in the last 16 days.

You cannot compare old tracks built during WW2 to the new tracks built by china. Trust me China steel products are still below American standard...For USA rail to withstand 80 over years is considered good. China tracks can last 20 years is considered lucky...
