Agnipath: Good intentioned schemes get tangled in partisan politics, PM Narendra Modi says
NEW DELHI: PM Narendra Modi on Sunday said it is the country’s “misfortune” that schemes with good intent get mired in partisan politics.
“It is the misfortune of our country that many schemes, launched for good purpose, get entangled in partisan politics. Media also gets dragged into it due to its TRP compulsions and then it acquires a life of its own,” the PM said after inaugurating the Pragati Maidan Integrated Transit Corridor in the national capital.
The comment comes in the backdrop of violent protests against the Agnipath scheme with opposition parties demanding its rollback. However, Modi did not refer to the protests against the new scheme for recruitment to the armed forces and, instead, recalled criticism faced by the Central Vista project emphasising that political parties and others opposed to it deliberately glossed over the fact that it was part of a larger scheme to rebuild government buildings, including those of the defence ministry.
The lament about “well-intentioned” schemes being rendered controversial was in line with the government’s regret over having to roll back farm laws and drop changes in the land acquisition law.
He expressed satisfaction that the Central Vista project is moving rapidly and in the coming days the capital of India will be a topic of discussion globally and a matter of pride for all Indians.
Absolutely right ! Something needs to be done immediately in this regard.

If the Agnipath/Agniveer proposal is for reducing the burden of Salary and pensions of defence personnel, let the Govt first curtail heavy pensionery benefits to our politicians, MPs and MLAs etc.. Let the Govt declare the financial implications on such freebies.

Karma is a circle... what BJP did when it was in opposition ... same is being done by today's opposition... else when BJP is in opposition then that day's ruling party will call BJP anti national etc...
This is the biggest problem with this Govt. No inputs are taken for whom Bills are drafted.
You did this before 2014. Don't forget that as per your convenience
Nothing new where external forces in association with internal bad elements backed by political wings operate to stalemate and create unimaginable problems in shape of burning public property .GOVT too needs to read the situations .
8 yrs have gone by. Now prove your mettle and thrash black and blue any congressi aur jihadi goon. People have not elected you to become another manmohan.

The fact remains that any new policy decisions are not acceptable to the opposition parties. They never took any major reform during their tenure in the office. Not that Mr Modi should be supported for any thing n every thing but issues should be taken up in proper forum.judiciary is also there for redressal.Pl do not instigate people and do not oppose things for the sake of opposition.
All true Indians plus our Armed forces are with Modi ji on the Agnipath scheme. The Congress and the rioters they sponsored can go to hell. All of them anyway will never get to join in our military and they must be thankful they weren't shot dead on their filthy violent heads while they were burning down trains.
You were doing same thing 8 years ago when you are in opposition

Any foolhardy is bound to get flaks. This is not the first time disaster has happened , Demonetisation / GST / unplanned lock downs --- are some of the examples. As and when it happens his cronies get down to start explanations. stupid.
He committed a blunder by withdrawing the Farm Bill.
