High-speed train derailment in China kills 1, injures 8

中国高速列车脱轨，造成1人死亡8人受伤

The driver of a high-speed train in southern China was killed and eight people were injured when two cars derailed early Saturday after hitting a mudslide, state broadcaster CCTV reported.

据中央电视台报道，周六凌晨，中国南方一列高速列车发生泥石流，两辆车脱轨，导致司机死亡，8人受伤。

The accident occurred midmorning as the train was entering a tunnel in the inland southern province of Guizhou. It had been traveling on a regular route to the coastal business center of Guangzhou.

事故发生在凌晨，当时列车正在进入贵州省南部内陆的一条隧道，列车一直在按常规路线前往广州。

Those injured were in stable condition and the other 136 people aboard the train were evacuated safely, CCTV said.

据报道，受伤人员情况稳定，列车上的其他136人已安全疏散

The cause of the accident is under investigation.

It looks like it crashed near a station, so they weren't going that fast it would seem like. Only 1 died from this crash. Thankfully, they weren't going full speed when this happened. Hopefully, they learn from this and prevent this from happening again.
