New Covid cases cross 3 lakh for 6th straight day
NEW DELHI: If last week’s deaths are giving a glimpse of what lies ahead, then India is staring at the gloomiest phase of the ongoing Covid crisis.
April so far is the deadliest month since the begng of the pandemic and the last seven days alone accounted for half of the deaths reported in the entire month.
Despite lower testing in the weekend, Monday was the sixth day in a row when India’s Covid count for the past 24 hours exceeded 3 lakh (3.2 lakh on Monday) and deaths crossed the 2,000 mark for the seventh consecutive day.
With 2,766 mortalities on Monday, the month has claimed 34,595 lives so far of which 17,333 came in the last 7 days.
The death toll for this month which still has a week to go is higher than 33,230 deaths reported in September 2020—the month that previously held the record of highest Covid fatalities.
It is also alarming to note the sudden jump in fatalities. In March 2021, India saw 5,656 Covid deaths, which increased by six times in April.
Previously, 33,230 deaths in September came after 28,954 deaths in August while July had accounted for 18,676 deaths.
India’s toll second highest this month after Brazil, US third
This time, however, it seems that the sudden onslaught of cases has taken our healthcare system by surprise and the spike in cases might be linked to the overburdening of India’s health facilities. If this is the reason for the sudden spike in deaths then we must be prepared for worse to come.
Modi never took care of preparation for Covid fight. He was busy in Bengal election.
All data seems to be fudged. Other sources indicate that there are huge number of covid infected people and total death across the country. Lot of things are concealed from the public view. It is utmost dishonest on government part to fudge the data.
What else you can expect from "maut ke saudagar". So far it was blood in his hand, now it is blood in his beard.
Our PM had been busy with elections and everything other than the health workers' warning of a second wave- now see the result; India will outperform all countries in morbidity and mortality
Usually Mondays less cases will come compare to Saturday and Sunday due to less testing on Sundays. If today and tomorrow also cases comes around 3.2 or 3.1 lakh then it is a good news to common people but bad news to Feku
Good to see Maharashtra is improving .
It’s not 3 lakhs cases but much much more. Dead are also many times more.
FEKU has ruined the country.. He gives only hardship to the people of India.
huge manipulation in covid counts death and infected.
Thanks Modiji and his fauj of blind bhakts for the situation we are in today.
The fact is we were too much under-prepared to handle health emergency situation.. Hope this wake up call (at such a huge cost) will make us develop health infrastructure to cater our big population.
In Gurugram district of haryana govt record 7 Deaths in actual 90 death in single day. This is how the fake data is shown to public
Our health care system is overloaded now. Even for small simple treatment, people has to wait for longer periods and this may lead to much more dangerous situation. If this situation continues, people may die more comparatively even without covid-19.
Need of the hour is strict lockdown for atleast 15-20 days for entire india so that we will have some breathing space.
Even Mayawati as PM would have done a better job in the fight against Covid 19
Low testing, low numbers...Hide actual deaths...What a great way to show rosy pictures by indian union & states..sic
Chance never favors the unprepared. We were unprepared.
We have a PM who will do anything and everything to win elections. Imagine a PM who is so busy fighting elections as if that is his main responsibility.
UNIVERSAL VACCINATION IS THE ONLY SOLUTION LEFT. INITIALLY PEOPLE R SCARED TO TAKE AS NEWS CHANNEL HIGHLIGHTED THE BAD EFFECT OF VACCINATION .
Statistical data in India might not be correct.
