Pakistani people also desire peaceful relations with all neighbours including India: PM Imran to Modi
Prime Minister Imran Khan has responded to his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi's Pakistan Day message, telling him that the Pakistani people "also desire peaceful, cooperative relations with all neighbours, including India", it emerged on Tuesday.
The premier wre this in a letter to the Indian leader, a week after Modi told Imran in a message that his country, being a neighbour, desired cordial relations with the Pakistani people.
"I thank you for your letter conveying greetings on Pakistan Day. The people of Pakistan commemorate this Day by paying tribute to the wisdom and foresight of our founding fathers in envisioning an independent, sovereign state where they could live in fre m and realise their full pential," Prime Minister Imran wre in the letter, dated March 29, the Foreign Office confirmed.
A large majority of Indians and Pakistanis living in the Western World have good relations with each other. Why can’t this be done as neighbours??
What a pragmatic and a sagious statement by our PM.
Modi has realized it’s not possible to win over Pakistan militarily. As well India is being squeezed by China and Pakistan from all sides. In addition to Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Iran, Afghanistan also getting closer to China. India is being isolated. Therefore, it’s in Indian interest to ditch the efforts to establish supremacy over it’s neighbors, and focus on poverty alleviation and rule of law in the country
Let’s hope sense prevails and Modi starts talking
Good. This is probably the first time in the history both the leading goverment and the military are on the same page. After decades of hostility and soldiers on both sides dying on the borders this is the only way to move forward. Not only for the sake of both countries but for the sake of Asia. Now question remains, how will India answer to this? Since Pakistan wants India to take the first step.
Yes, Kashmir is the only inhibiting wall of peace between the two countries with an enormous pential for a vast cooperation.
Its a perfect reply.
So what next now after the PM’s have exchanged greetings to each other. A FM sideline meeting in Istanbul?
India is trapped between Chinese punches and farmers prests, as well as sagging global image of Modi. Pak is trapped in IMF loans and t king economy. And therein lies the reasons for temporary bonhomie. No love lost!
Excellent and expected response from PM of Pakistan to Mr. Modi.Unresolved issues have to be addressed as well as both should need to move forward, there should be no pending issues.
PMIK is so .
Without Kashmir resolution, there will be no peace.
see india and pakistan are saying peace, india does not want to talk about kashmir and kashmir wants first kashmir issue ti be resolved. now again, stalemate.
Yes. After fre m of Kashmir.
Lets no time wasting..start talks on Kashmir.
Hope some one explains it to Modi, slowly in Gujarati.
Our peace gestures should be met with serious efforts, it should not be conceived as weakness of Pakistan.
Modi will keep Imran khan signed letter as most valuable souvenir in showcase. His most prized possession.
Poor Modi. Feel Sorry for him.
Above all Pak PM suggest to resolve the Kashmir dispute..
Good relation between India & Pakistan is in the interest of the whole region. Please proceed.
