Firecrackers heard across Delhi on Diwali night despite ban
NEW DELHI: Bursting of firecrackers could be heard across Delhi and its neighbouring areas on Diwali night even though a ban was imposed on its sale and use in the national capital region in view of rising air pollution and Covid-19 pandemic.
Sparklers were seen lighting up the night sky while crackers went off on the ground in various areas.
The National Green Tribunal (NGT) had on Monday imposed a total ban on sale or use of all kinds of firecrackers in the National Capital Region (NCR) till November 30 midnight.
The Delhi go nment too had earlier this month imposed a total ban on all kinds of fireworks till November 30.
However, on Diwali night firecrackers could be seen going off in various residential colonies of the national capital from around 8 pm.
The Delhi Police, however, said that it has deployed personnel in many parts of the city and action will be taken against those violating the ban.

all these fake enviormentalist sleep throughout the year and get hyperactive during diwali..
It's only fair if the fire crackers are banned for everything no exception. No new year, Christmas, IPL, wedding nothing!. It cant be fire crackers are polluting in Diwali and environmental friendly on non Hindu events.
Fireworks are almost wholly manufactured by small units in Sivakasi Tamil Nadu India starting several months before festivals . They are sold across the country largely by small businesses and petty traders ( and not corporates ) who pay and procure them weeks in advance. The pollution issue and the festival dates are known in advance. Why are bans on use of fireworks proclaimed only a week before Diwali after they are manufactured, and substantially sold ?
These environmentalists not bothered about daily water pollution, soil polution, animal killing etc
Proud of delhiwalas ! You are heroes !
Ha Ha Ha. No one listens to the corrupt rioter chief minister
I am pretty sure that this year more number of firecrackers are being used compared to previous years. It's already past midnight but people are not stopping at all. We are going to pay a heavy price for this insanity within few days. People could have limited the firework but instead they doubled it
And then same people expect India to be a developed nation. People need to understand that in developed nation everyone follows go nment regulations. And also same people when they go to western countries suddenly they become followers of rules and regulations, just because they know that there are no relatives who can't save them from police.

When sale of firecrackers was banned then from where so much firecrackers came for bursting whole night across NCR. All these rules are made on paper and not to implement.
If the Idian authorities cant implement any law then why they are wasting money and energy on making it. Public violate the laws openly with fearless.
Does the ban till 30/11 imply that all can burn crackers for Christmas and celebrate..?
Delhi is pristine apart from crop burning and Diwali.
One can't stop people for celebrating diwali be it pollution or ban. Air quality has been severe already before diwali
fire crackers were exploding in anandvihar area yesterday... no check, no control
I live in Delhi's Dwarka area and I heard pretty the same amount of firecrackers burst this year as any other year..If the go nment has banned the bursting of firecrackers in Delhi, seems like they forgot to inform people about it..or forgot to inform the police about it...anyways looks like people are used to breathing poison now and they have no desire to breathe clean air..may be because cigarettes are so expensive these days so they just want to smoke for free...
What else can you expect from Indians?
Human beings, especially Indians, are hell bent on destroying nature and its beauty....Pretty soon this planet will become unliveable..That will start from Delhi ofcourse...
Not only in Delhi there was rampant use of fire crackers in Mumbai also. These padelikhe "unpad gawar" people never reform themself.
