Congress president Rahul Gandhi mocked the Modi government’s announcement of income support to farmers as a “Rs 17 a day” insult to them. The opposition party said what will bring true relief to the poor is the minimum income guarantee promised by it.

国大党主席拉胡尔•甘地嘲笑莫迪政府宣布的对农民的收入补贴，称“每天17卢比”是对印度农民的侮辱，并称给穷人带来真正救济的是其政党所承诺的最低收入保障。

“Dear NoMo, five years of your incompetence and arrogance has destroyed the lives of our farmers. Giving them Rs 17 a day is an insult to everything they stand and work for,” Rahul tweeted, with the hashtag ‘Aakhri Jumla Budget’.

拉胡尔发推文称：“亲爱的莫迪，你五年来的无能和傲慢毁了农民的生活。现在给17卢比/天的补贴是对他们的侮辱。”

The Budget announced Rs 6,000 annual support for farmers, which comes to Rs 16.43 per day. Former Union finance minister P Chidambaram called it a “half cup of tea per day” and described the Budget as “not a vote on account but an account for votes.” He said people would not be swayed by empty announcements of a “desperate government” with just 90 days left in office.

Rahul had last week announced that Congress, if voted to power, would institute a ‘right to minimum income’, which would be a monthly financial support to all poor. Congress said that will bring real relief to non-farming and urban sections of the poor as well.

Chidambaram said the two words missing from the Budget were “jobs and education”, accusing the Modi regime of failing the country’s youth and children. “That is because if they say anything about jobs, the young will dismiss it as ‘pakodanomics’,” he said, in an allusion to PM Narendra Modi’s earlier remark that selling ‘pakodas’ was also a job.

奇丹巴拉姆称，预算中所缺失的两方面是“就业和教育”，他指责莫迪政权辜负了印度的青年和儿童。他说:“这是因为，如果他们提及就业，年轻人会将其斥为“pakodanomics”，这是暗指莫迪总理早些时候的言论，称卖“pakodas”（炸蔬菜丸）也是一份工作。”

we farners never had any sweet insults with ₹17 a day during congress rule mr pappu. rather I had to sell off my land to repay bank loans which I took to dig bore well. many of my fellow farmers committed suicide during congress rule in many states.

at least we have a BJP govt. in center who is willing to listen and address our distress but congress party were always busy in looting and fooling public with scams in their 70 years tenure.
