China hopes to land six rovers on the surface of the planet as well as seven vehicles in orbit, collecting vital data including surface temperature and soil readings.

This could one day lead to both a 'robotic and human settlement' on the red planet, Rongqiao told an audience at the 2017 Beiing International Forum on Lunar and Deep-space Exploration.

Every decade that passes since Sputnik was launched, countries have wasted trillions on military means, whether that's hardware, wars or whatever. Imagine the world today if countries had joined together, pooled their resources and aimed for and then beyond the Moon instead of fighting each other. It will take decades alone to go to Mars, surely now is the time for joint cooperation between every country to expand Mankind beyond Earth, and all in the name of peace, advancement and technology.

About the same price as a flat in One Hyde Park.

Who did they steal from this time..?

Yhe Chinese are great at simulations. Not so much on actually producing innovative things first. They tend to steal other's ideas and plans.

Women will be sent to a Mars base first, before any men, no matter what Nation sends them.......after all, before the men get to mars, it's going to need a damn good dust.

Of course it¿s a simulation, they haven¿t copied someone else¿s plans yet on how to get there yet

Sure they can but in their dreams :). LMAO!

Yeah, with their current stolen technology, they can't go anywhere other than the mainland China :)but.

Just think someday people will be able to say that you have not had really good authentic Chinese food until you have been to Mars.

The project to educate teens about space is very commendable and China's efforts to keep up with the superpowers in such a short time frame tends to seem almost effortless

It's so sad to see the USA being left behind in the space race. China understands that an active space program marks you as a great country. America once new this and landed men on the moon, sadly these days it's more interested in tax cuts for the rich.

Looks to me like they've been watching too many Hollywood movies!
