NEW DELHI: The defence ministry on Wednesday approved capital acquisition proposals worth nearly Rs 9,435 crore including procurement of 41,000 light machine guns and over 3.5 lakh battle carbines to bolster firepower of infantry soldiers deployed along borders with and Pakistan.

新德里：国防部周三批准了总额高达943亿卢布的资金提案，用于采购4.1万支轻型机枪及35万支卡宾枪以加强部署于印度与巴基斯坦和边境的步兵火力。

The proposals were cleared at a meeting of the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC), the defence ministry's highest decision making body on procurement.
