According to the SRS 2014, 98.3% in Gujarat have mobile connections, while only 69.8% have toilets in their homes.
However, according to senior government officials, 73.98% households in the state have toilets.
April 2016 figures released by TRAI reveal that Gujarat has 6.18 crore mobile connections, against the population of 6.04 crore.
this situation is across country and not only Gujarat.
Ditto in all other States.
It''s sad but we Indians don''t give importance to cleanliness.

Mobile mania is getting flooded. People have no sense to toilet rather than going for mobiles. That is Gujarat development.
In India, that is the case in most of the states. Why this presstitute is picking up on Gujarat?
India is still uncivilised country compared to rest of the world
Actually the all India level picture is even worse . In all India level, only 57.3 % have toilet at home ( Compare: In neighbor country Bangladesh, more than 97% have toilet at home )
This is anti national news. How dare they write about Gujrat Model. Gujrat model of development is world famous and even USA is adopting it.
this is vibrant Gujarat ..... no toilets no basic amenities but plenty of luxurious goods
Sarada P Samantaray
Why Gujarat, the trend is everywhere. There are signboards in road crossing that says do not talk (or work) on mobile while crossing the road!!
I think its across india.
Blame modi n bjp for that hahaha
