Foxconn nears deal to build iPhones in India: Report
Your next iPhone could be made in India. According to a report in ET Now, the iPhone contract manufacturer Foxconn is in talks with the Indian government to open a facility to make Apple smartphones in the country.
The $10-billion facility will be located in Maharashtra, India. The company is said to be looking for a 1,200 acre of land for the facility.
The report also claims that while several state governments have been in the fray for the deal, the centre government and Foxconn have zeroed on Maharashtra.
1200 acres of land for this facility is too much. They may be grabbing land in the guise of making manufacturing felicity.
Make in India!
Now Indian workers can start jumping to their deaths like the Chinese Foxconn workers routinely do.
Finally they knwo without doing ”Make in India” they may not get much success further in India. Godo move by Apple.
