NEW DELHI: The railways ministry has fast-tracked the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train corridor by setting up a separate company, on the lines of the Delhi Metro Railway Corporation (DMRC), which will build and operate the NDA government's ambitious project.
The company will be registered in January. The process has already being initiated by Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC), reflecting the state-run transporter's intent to accelerate the actual work on the Modi government's dream project expected to put the country's railway sector in the big league.
The corridor is likely to have 12 stations between Mumbai and Sabarmati/Ahmedabad and the tariff would be 1.5 times of first AC fare.
What is the logic of 12 stations ? Why not 6 stations ?
Special trains on this track after the Bullet train has passed should be introduced. This should have stops at Andheri, Mira Road and Virar. Then only daily commutors will benefit
Modi is bailing out failing Japanese companies at cost of poor Indian tax payer who will never ever travel in this train!
Bullet train with 12 stops! After one year, it will be like regular duper fast express
Very good initiative. The Diamond Quadrilateral will usher in prosperity. Bravo Modij
Iam a bit sceptic in the sense unless the whole track is well cordoned off .Otherwise all animals will be crossing the tracks including humans
Indian Tax payer is poor perhaps, but not the Indians living in Posh flats that go over 10 to 15 crores. India needs fast trains, fast everything, even MEGLEV as in Shanghai. More we speed our trains, less the need for some 30 lakh blankets and their washing on daily basis. China cuts 1000 km in 5 hrs in regular bullet trains. Why can we not do the same? No need for overnight sleeping trains, just sit and enjoy a classy train ride for a few hours for the most.
