BEIJING: China and Russia are set to sign an agreement on developing a wide-bodied airliner before the end of the year, the China Daily reported on Monday, quoting the president of Russia's state-controlled United Aircraft Corp, Yury Slyusar.
United Aircraft and state-controlled Commercial Aircraft Corp of China Ltd have been considering the joint development of the jet since May 2014.
Officials at Commercial Aircraft Corp and UAC were not immediately available for comment about the report.
The joint project could give both China and Russia a chance to compete in the wide-body segment which currently operates as a virtual duopoly under Europe's Airbus and US rival Boeing.
nobody cares for what India keeps weeping at. The world is moving on. India still relies largely on foreign technology for its security. Not because India has any less talent , niether because Indian people want it , but because Indian politicians and businessmen can fill their coffers with commission money. In the face of a war, these politicians will fly to safe places and we will be left to defend ourselves with toys.
Indian people are the most clever people on earth, because they can achieve anything by mouth,by saying"if",Also they are the most confident people on earth
why should even give a sh*t
In the past it has been proved more than once that China & Russia are far behind in technology & quality than the US, Japan & the West.
In the matter involving human lives, it is the performance reliability which matters the most and the West is having past track record & reference behind then.
There is hardly any chance of Sino-Russian coming anywhere near Boeing or Airbus and there is very little hope that the countries will to go for them.
Those who argue it can't be done needs to shut up and get out of the way of the people who are already doing it.
