BHUBANESWAR: An Indian Air Force (IAF) fighter aircraft crashed at Kudarsahi village under Boshoi police station in Mayurbhanj district, around 300 km from here on Wednesday.
According to sources, the fighter plane crashed at about 1.10pm. After the crash a huge explosion took place. Villagers from nearby villages gathered at the crash site. Fire tenders from Baripada rushed to the site to douse the flames.
Bishoi block development officer Sambhunath Nandi said that after ejection both the pilots came to the crash site. “None has been hurt in the incident. We have asked two more fire tenders to rush to the site,” said Nandi. Senior district level officers including Mayurbhanj SP Anup Krishna have rushed to the site to take stock.
Pathetic show. With an Air Force crash rate like this we don’t need enemies.
