Dramatic images show soldiers in China training in wintery conditions.
The images taken on December 21 show armed soldiers from the frontier inspection station taking part in 30-day-long extreme cold weather training in Heihe, located on the border with Russia.
On December 21, the average temperature in Heihe was -22 degrees with a low of -27.
The soldiers make up just one division of the People’s Liberation army, known to be the largest army in the world with some 2.3 million active personnel.

The training our lads go through is soft compared to what these and some other countries go through, China, Japan, Korea etc. We are all about behavioural discipline and political correctness. Theirs is about mind, body and physical discipline.
