外文标题：Smog insurance introduced in China
BEIJING: A Chinese insurer is offering smog insurance to travelers visiting six heavily-polluted cities in China during extremely hazy days.
Ping An Insurance (Group) Co is jointly offering the policy along with online travel agency, Ctrip International. It would be available to tourists, who book packaged tours for three and seven days through the travel firm.
The insurer is initially offering insurance to travelers visiting six cities -- Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Xian, Chengdu and Harbin. It has promised to announce a second batch of cities eligible for insurance cover soon.
The compensation would be offered on the basis of air quality index, information regarding which would be disseminated through mobile phones.
It would be given to tourists in Xi'an and Beijing if they suffer two consecutive days of the air pollution index exceeding 200. The standard is 150 for Harbin and Chengdu and 100 for Guangzhou and Shanghai.
This is the latest in a series of responses to choking pollution in Chinese cities. Earlier, Panasonic offered smog compensation to its workers. New devices and air filters have hit markets and certain schools are offering tuitions through the Internet during hazy days to deal with the problem.
Chinese premier Li Keqiang has declared a "war on pollution" amid reports that a lot of foreign expatriates were leaving the country because of heavy air pollution.
Only three of China's 74 major cities meet the national standards related to air pollution. Two of these cities are islands suggesting almost all inland cities are facing heavy pollution.

Good Beginning to save Mankind. The introduction of this policy signals the beginning of "war on pollution". Hope we do not get a policy for Liability for Polluters. Any way good news.

If the Automobile Industries need Thrashing on their Basics (assuming that City Smog is more to do with Automobile Pollution than the Coal); I expect the Single Party System of China, to fare better than Multiparty Systems. ..of other Democracies.

LET US COMPETE WITH CHINA, AND SCRU OUR COUNTRY JUST LIKE THEM FOR MONEY. THEN WE WILL ALSO BREATHE HEAVYMETALS AND POLLUTANTS AND DIE HAPPYILY FLOATING IN HARD CASH. WE WILL DIE 50 YEARS EARLIER THAN GOD INTENDED, BUT WE WILL DIE RICH AND MUCH MORE HAPPIER.

China pollutes the planet more in one year than the USA pollutes in 20 years

the missing plane might be lost in the smog
1.China has more bicycles than any place on earth. 2.China has worse air pollution than any place on earth. Conclusion: bicycles cause air pollution. Ban bicycles to aleviate air pollution.

See, China has proved we don't need an EPA the free market solves all.
Insurance does not protect you from things happening, They just pay you when they do. It is just another method of gambling. And it has been going on long before Jesus walked this earth
Ah, the price of progress.
