Indians view US, Russia as most friendly nations; Pakistan & China as least friendly: Survey

NEW DELHI: A majority of Indians view China as the least friendly nation and consider US and Russia as the most friendly, a survey has found.

According to a survey by Morning Consult, most Indian adults view Russia as the country most allied to their own, followed closely by US. China and Pakistan are seen as rivals.

"India’s renewed attempts to carve out a middle path have come with a curious array of foreign policy affinities and enmities, in part by design," a report in Morning Consult said.

It said that India can ill-afford an unchecked alliance between Russia, China and Pakistan and relies on positive relations with Moscow to help temper Chinese aggression and expansionism.

This survey seems to be off the mark. I have not come across anyone who considers either Russia or Iran as a military threat to India. And Turkey, and perhaps Azerbaijan, which should be considered as such, are not listed at all. Gadbad hai.

If we notice, US is the root cause of all the wars in recent times. They are involved directly or by proxys (NATO) in each and every war like Syria, Lebanon, Taiwan, Afghanistan, Ukraine, Iran, Iraq, Yemen etc.etc. India should be as concerned as the US, if not, more than China. China remains a constant threat to Indian sovereignty but Pakistan is a gone case, a real bagger.

Seem to have forgotten the numerous little wars and scraps that Russia has been involved in since WWII - East Berlin, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Afghanistan, Chechnya and Syria amongst them. Only fair to include these since the US is being blamed for warmongering regarding Taiwan, for example.
