Bengaluru: Ill-treated woman jumps off UAE building, reaches KIA
BENGALURU: A 27-year-old Bengaluru woman who went to Abu Dhabi to work as a domestic help underwent a horrible time for four months. Her employer made her work twenty hours a day, without sufficient food and didn’t pay her.
She escaped by lea off the window of her employer’s house and later sought asylum at the Indian embassy. She finally reached Bengaluru on Friday.
Twenty hours of work a day without being paid a paise, no change of clothes and passport snatched away — this sums up the four-month ordeal a 27-year-old Bengaluru woman experienced in Abu Dhabi. She finally escaped by lea off the window of her employer’s house and seeking asylum at the Indian embassy.
On Friday evening, the woman reached Kempegowda International Airport (KIA), the relief of being back home writ large on her face.
Nimisha (name changed) was born and raised in Bagalur, Bengaluru Urban, and supported her family, including elderly parents and three young siblings, by working as a domestic help in the locality. But the Covid crisis left her unemployed and she struggled to feed the mouths she was supporting and buy medicines for her parents.
Then she came across someone she thought was a godsend: Aisha from Goripalya, an illegal agent, who promised to place her as a domestic help in Abu Dhabi for a monthly pay of Rs 30,000.
Punish the the agent who sent her to UAE and make him pay three times the sry promised, along with interest
Indian Govt. should make strict laws ag inst such fraudulent agents for treating Indian emigrants so inhumanly in UAE. Infact the Emirati family who tortured the young lady so inhumanly should also be prosecuted in UAE. There are many Indian emigrants who are facing such issues. Indian domestic helps are not sl ves and how dare Emiratis treating their Indian domestic helps as sl ves ??
More than Agent, the Emirates family is responsible for her plight ... have they treated her fairly and given her due sry..she wouldn't have to escape like that... is there no law in emirates to punish such people ?
India is a land known for trickery, cheating, forgery, deceit and fraud. We all should be knowing that very well.
This is a regular scam but still people keep travelling to UAE for money.
what inddian embassy doing in uae . drag the employer and arab and compensate for full term employment to thus women . media should run a campaign in India and uae .
Her employer should be reported to the local authorities and be made to pay compensation to the lady
What action is being taken on that emarati family!!!
The authority should check the agents and lodge a compn to the UAE Embassy though knowing it is not going to get anything out of them. But as a record an offi al compnt should be lodge
Kindly publish details of the emirates family and shame them so the next pential victim will be safe
Such is the plight of people in India that they are forced to leave the nation and find work and we celebrate 75 years of fre m. Real fre m is from poverty, hunger and disease
Check every blue collar person especially woman at the airport. Find out their agent. Cross verify details. If agent is mot registered, cancel their trip.

All the illegal agents should be closed for ever and drastic action should be taken ag inst these agents. The ordeal that this lady has gone through are common in Gulf and KSA.
At least now Indian Go nment should take action on the Indian agency who recruited this woman and also Indian Embassy should catch the Srilankan agent and the ARAB employer and get proper compensation for this lady.UAE Go nment should get involved in it.
she will get more than that in Bengaluru itself.. people don't see opportunity India has..they want to see outside world and endup in wrong hands
I'll treated? Say highly tortured.
catch the agent and recover all money
This happens even with engineers who go to these countries to work. They confiscate your passport the moment you land and you're a sl ve to your employer.
Why didn't embassy contact Abu Dhabi police and lodge criminal compnt?
All these ill-treatment of migrant workers need to be sorted out with the concerned nation through proper talks.
people will never learn.
