To strengthen Indo-Pacific ties, US defence secretary Austin calls on PM Modi

NEW DELHI: Ensuring security and stability in the critical Indo-Pacific region, with more bilateral as well as multilateral collaboration, is on top of the India-US agenda during secretary of defence Lloyd J Austin’s visit here this weekend.

新德里：为了确保印太地区的安全和稳定，开展更多双边和多边合作，是美国国防部长劳埃德·J·奥斯汀本周末访问印度期间的首要议程。

With the Biden administration declaring its clear intent to strengthen 'alliances and partnerships' in the Indo-Pacific to foster 'credible deterrence' against , Austin called on PM Narendra Modi and met national security advisor Ajit Doval in the evening after touching down in New Delhi at 4.40 pm on Friday.
