Gujarat man infected with Covid-19 after taking 2nd dose of vaccine
AHMEDABAD: A health offi al in Gujarat has tested positive for coronavir s days after taking the second dose of the vaccine ag inst the infection, offi als said Saturday.
The man, a health officer in Gandhinagar's Dehgam taluka, had taken the first dose on January 16 and the second one on February 15. He had fever and and his samples were examined, which detected the Covid-19 infection on February 20 said Gandhinagar's Chief Health Officer Dr MH Solanki.
"He is in home isolation as his symptoms are mild. He has told me that he is fit to join work from Monday," Solanki added.
The CHO said it generally takes around 45 days for antibodies ag inst the infection to develop after both the doses of the vaccine are administered.
He also said one must wear a mask and adhere to all Covid-19 protocols like social distancing etc. even after taking both doses of the vaccine ag inst the infection in order to be on the safe side.
As on Friday evening, Gujarat has a caseload of 2,72,240, including 4,413 deaths.
Even after vaccination,it takes fee weeks to develop antibodies...that level of antibodies can only prect in 85% cases only...these are facts...why media persons are making it sensational news...stop rumour mongering,be responsible media
If symptoms are mild then why report such news, but again they failed to report which vaccine had the patient took. Personally, vaccination does not mean 100% prection, some vaccines just prevent the disease from becoming serious.
What is the meaning of this article, vaccine only prects from severe infection...
It’s natural the weakened vir s might be the cause of mild symptoms but ne that it’s mild not severe as the antibodies are fighting . Even when kids take BCG or MMR it’s natural to get fever and mild symptoms for some
It takes at least 14 days post vaccination to develop antibodies and then it will prevent covid in 62 to 90 percent cases (avg 70 )..but it will prevent deaths ,hospitalization and severe covid in all 100 percent cases..
every body kno that even after 2nd dose to devlop imunity strong it need 14day more .
this makes me question the indigenous indian vaccine
We are only manufacturers - so far.
What an impent media.. Shame..
Immunity is attained 2 weeks after the 2nd dose. Moreover, no vaccine has 100% efficacy. AstraZeneca-Oxford has 62% while Covan has 81% efficacy which means 2out of 5 with Covishield & one out of five Covan persons can get infection even 2 weeks after 2nd dose.
This is a new vir s. Not much is known about it. The doctors and the scientists working on preventive measures are only trying their best.
Stupid media jpurnalist does not mention the brand of vaccin.. useless information.
Our worst nightmare has come true. At this critical juncture, Feku should immediately authorise the Pfizer/Moderna/J&J vaccines for emergency use because all of them are safe and effective even ag inst the new variants.
Even after vaccination, you could be infected with Covid but body would have been prepared and tuned to attack the vir s and kill it which may result in a milder case like a flu than a serious disease that needs hospitalization. Also ne that it takes few weeks to get the vaccine to generate antibodies enough to train the body to deal with the vir s.
Feku will blame it on Nehru.
Pls remove this article asap, headline is misleading
Vaccines prevent severity of infection. Covid will be there even after vax albeit asymptotic. Nothing to be anous about. Vax will preven hospitalization and death.
