No proposal on central anti-conversion law to curb inter-fa th marriages, says Centre
NEW DELHI: The go nment on Tuesday ruled out any proposal to bring a central anti-conversion law to curb inter-fa th marriages, stating that prevention, detection, registration, investigation and prosecution of offences related to re gious conversions primarily lay in states’ domain.
Minister of state for home G Kishan Reddy, replying to a query in the Lok Sabha on whether the Union go nment felt inter-fa th marriages were linked to forceful re gious conversions, stated that ‘public order’ and ‘police’ are State subjects as per the Seventh Schedule of the Constitution.
部G Kishan Reddy在人民院回答关于联邦政府是否认为跨宗教婚姻与强制宗教皈依有关的问题是表示，根据宪法附表7，维护“公共秩序”是各邦警方的职责。
“Hence prevention, detection, registration, investigation and prosecution of offences related to re gious conversions are primarily the concerns of the state go nments/Union Territory (UT) administrations. Action is taken as per esting laws by the law enforcing agencies whenever instances of violation come to notice,” he told the MPs.
On a specific query on whether the go nment intends to propose a Central anti-conversion law to curb inter-fa th marriages, Reddy replied, “No, Sir”.
The query, submitted by five MPs, comes in the wake of some BJP-ruled states enacting laws to regulate inter-fa th marriages involving forced conversion. Such laws were recently brought by go nments of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, while Assam and Karnataka go nments have announced their intention to enact similar laws to curb inter-fa th marriages based on forced conversion.
How about a discussion on :
- Stringent punishment for co ption?
- No criminals in po itics?
- Make education accessible to all ?
Stop playing re gion card or the nation is going no where.
what about uniform civil code Bill and population control bill. when are they coming
EVEN UNDER BRITISH RULE INDIANS WERE NOT THAT DIVIDED ON RELIGION AND CASTE BASSIS AS WE INDIANS ARE DIVIDED NOW UNDER MODI AND SHAH RULE EVEN GNE DYER WAS BETTER THAN HIM
BJP is nice in diverting people.
Are Hindus very weak, so they need support from the go nment for survival?
If Hindus are not prected from love jihad ,soon Hindus will loose their identity from India !
How can Feku abandon his wife but now he wants to control who can marry someone of their choice.
I don't have any problems with interfa th marriages but why these men steal the re gious identity. Is love less important than fa th.? If not why can't these men change their re gion to girls' re gion? Allway girls have to convert to boys re gion.
kindly bring a law ag inst killing people in the name of a cow.
Go nment should not rule out but seriously consider this subject.
Forceful conversion of Hindus by planned trap of the Mus ms is prevalent all over the world lead by Pakistan and Bangladesh. This must be stopped.
Anti-Conversion law is the need of the hour to prevent forcible or enticements based widespread conversions being carried out by Chr tian missionaries ag inst Sikhs in Punjab.
No guts to propose the law.
All jumla to divert attention from farmers demands.
Now this go nment is also going the Congress and secular way. It has also no courage to take action ag inst the conversion mafia and criminals.
Rule should be to prevent forced inter fa th re gious conversion in the name of love and marriage. If there is actual love, then why are girls forced to change their re gion as a condition for marriage? There should be a law ag inst it.
BJP is more interested in non-constructive issues for the country and keeps the Indians busy with these kinds of nonsense..no wonder we had a falling economy for the last 8 years...
kindly bring a law to kick out non-performing po iticians like Nirm out of parliament.
