原文标题：North Korea lists 28 hairstyles to keep capitalism at bay
BEIJING: Hair-dos and hairdon'ts! North Koreans are now allowed to choose only from a state-approved list of 28 hairstyles to "ward off the corrupting effects of capitalism".
The hermit state has recommended a range of 28 hairstyles for its citizens, claiming that they are "the most comfortable" styles and capable of warding off the corrupting effects of capitalism, according to ifeng.com, a news website run by Hong Kong's Phoenix TV network.
Women can choose from 18 feathery looks, while men must make do with only 10, 'wantchinatimes.com' reported. However, the 'grunge' hairstyle sported by the country's supreme leader Kim Jong UN is not on the list.
Spiky hair is forbidden, as are quiffs. Married women are instructed to keep their tresses short, while the single ladies are allowed let loose with longer, curlier locks.
The hair of the country's young men should be less than 5 cm long and they should have a haircut once every 15 days as longer hair apparently takes away nutrition from their brains.
Older men, whose brains are presumably in decline, anyway, are allowed to rock out with hair as long as 7 cm. The news anchor for the country's Korean Central Television, Ri Chun-hee , known for being patriotic to the point of hysteria, changed her hairstyle twice within two weeks in 2011.

The are ingenious in their ways and means of ruling the people and keeping them hooked to their propoganda machinery. Its a matter of time before the NK despots push their people to live in caves and go back to the stone age.
Feel sorry for the people. Surprisingly the dictatorship has reigned without much intervention from the USA or other western countries. If they could wipe out so many regimes in middle east then why not N. Korea. Whats holding them back? I guess its all about interest. Maybe N.Korea has no oil or big natural resources for anyone to take much interest.

More silly western propaganda to ridicule N Korea After all if the Western media can get people to believe a diabetic man sitting in an Afghan cave could get 5 planes to simultaneously crash in the US they can get people to believe anything

Silly propaganda indeed! If middle-eastern folks can get people to believe for 1400 years that horses have wings and can fly people to heaven & back, they sure can get people to believe in near about anything. Good luck with your logic, dude!

If capitalism has to kept at bay, one has to introduce a better system (better than Capitalism) legally and socially acceptable to common people. Any type of dictatorship cannot weed out foreign interference permanently ,only democracy can do that .

it is very strange that in North Korea, they have to be abided by the guidelines of the govt for personal appearance!!!! We in India are having more freedom than required hence behind all criminal activities...
This is the craziest, idea ever put forth by any dictator. God save the country.
