外文标题：More Indians have stopped believing in God: Survey
LONDON: The latest Global Index of Religiosity and Atheism has found that the number of non religious people in India has risen.
As against 87% saying they were religious in the same survey in 2005, the percentage has fallen to 81% in 2013. In other words, a drop by 6% in seven years.
The survey also found a 1% dip in the number of people calling themselves as an atheist. In 2005, 4% people said they didn’t believe in God. In 2012, that had dipped to 3%.
Globally, the trend is similar. Religiosity has dropped by 9%, while atheism has risen by 3%. The report says there is a notable decline across the globe in self-description of being religious.
Pakistan is among the few countries which has seen an increase in the number of people who call themselves religious – by 6%.
Argentina, home to the present Pope, saw a 8% dip in people calling themselves religious.
South Africa has seen a 19% dip in those calling themselves religious, US 13%, Switzerland and France 21% and Vietnam 23%.
A total of 51,927 persons were interviewed globally from 57 countries across the globe in five continents. In each country a national probability sample of around 1000 men and women was interviewed. China has the highest number of atheists living in a single country with nearly 50% of its population describing themselves as non-believers compared to an average of 13% across the world.

Believing in God has nothing to do with being religious. Religious fanatics of any section don’t do good for neither the God nor for the mankind.

Religion is a man made tool created by our ancestors to control people. Not a single person of any faith has been able to prove that their god exists.
I dont mind theism or atheism but ohh god Islam is cancer. Fk islam , I want anything but islam.

Religion is the reason, so many innocent humans have lost lives, so many are losing everyday. Come out from the “Matrix” of religion.its a trap. There is no god, Its just a tool to fool you. You believe in something which doesn’t exist and you never saw it. God is superstition and nothing else.

This report may not be true, now more people are visiting Religious places and even it is difficult to find bookings. More people go to temple and big lines of devotees can be found anywhere. I would say more people believe in god but few follow the teachings of religion

It is obvious that as time goes on people will change. The new generation only care about having fun and do not care about religion, family and other cultural habits. Whatever it is, I hope people won’t forget one religion that they can’t deny they are part of “HUMANITY”.

Shows world is progressing but Pakistan is on its way to Islamic destruction. When people start believing in themselves and stop attributing things to god, then they will progress.

This is incorrect survey. Indians worship only Goddess Lakshmi. They want blessing of Goddess Lakshmi by all means, they compromise everything for that.

The result does not seem to be correct. It seems to be one-siooded. More people have turned to be believers of God in recent years. The result is unreliable and untrustworthy.–Beekay, Chennai.

Educated people only believe on what they saw from eye. That’ s what science taught us. Since Pakistan illiteracy is increased over year, so religious people increased over the year.

SCIENCE IS JUST A DISCOVERY AND STUDY OF WHAT GOD HAS CREATED, Otherwise Science cannot create an ATOM or LIVING CELL BY ITSELF. The more you will study science the more you will believe in God. Even Einstien and Newton believed in existence of God through thier science knowledge. It is only the illiterate who has more faith in Science.

The atheist also believes in something: that there is no God, just like the religious person believes that there is one. Everybody needs to believe in something or the other!

Everyone wants home, car and a great living and if they dont get it they blame god.
1000 people is a miniscule sample from one billion people. Doesn’t necessarily reflect real scenario.

The idea is simple, people are becoming more practical day by day, they dont believe in something they havnt seen. But being religious gives you a strength that things will get better how ever worse they may be.

Not believing in God may not be aethism – Not having enough faith also translates to not believing in God. So data about the rise in aethism is floundered & faulty.
