原文标题：Japan summons envoy to China over island spat
BEIJING: Japan's ambassador to China Uichiro Niwa left Beijing for Tokyo to discuss the rising acrimony between the two countries over the disputed Diaoyu Islands in the East China Sea. Tokyo is also angry over some remarks made by the ambassador, which run contrary to his government's official position on the dispute.
Niwa caused a political storm in Japan when he said in an interview to the Financial Times in June that Tokyo's moves to "nationalize" the islands would lead to an "extremely grave crisis." He was responding to the Japanese government's move to buy the islands, which is at present owned by a local businessman.
On returning to Tokyo, Japanese foreign minister Koichiro Gemba instructed Niwa to properly explain Japan's stance to China over the disputed Senkaku Islands in the East China Sea, following recent intrusions by Chinese vessels into Japanese waters in the area, according to Japan's Kyodo news agency.
"We'll send him back to Beijing soon after he finishes his job," Gemba said. Japan is disturbed by the increased movement of the Chinese navy on the East China Sea, and what it regards as intrusions in the Japanese territory.
The tussle between China and Japan intensified in recent weeks after the Japanese government said it would buy the island. The Chinese foreign ministry reacted sharply saying Tokyo has no business to do so because it is owned by China.

You are a joker. you first said India has territorial disputes with Sri Lanka. Then contradicts it by saying Sri Lanka doesn't have borders. China is like the proverbial octopus, a tentacle here and a tentacle there.

That is because they follow some Confucian garbage "hide your strength and bide your time".At the appropriate time, they will raise land disputes with other nations also. They once did that with Soviet Russia and were beaten black and blue.

China was never interested in these islets. However when they came to know that there are vast oil reserves below the sea they started claiming these tiny islands as their own just 10 years ago. They have territorial disputes with almost all of their neighbours. Phillpines, Vietnam, Cambodia, India and Japan. They do not want to take this issue to international court as they know that they do not have any evidence to prove their claim.

Actually Japan has island disputes with all its neighboring countries, including Korea (South North), Russia, China (Mainland Taiwan) after the WW2. Before the war, Japan had disputes with the USA, which N-bombed the Japanese into peace, which settled all the disputes. Japan is now itchy for another N-peace.

Like Vietnam And the Philipines, Japan is just another pawn of America's "pivot to Asia" policy. Japan is under the US control since World war two with thousands of US troops still stations in many of its islands.

Being a US ally means you follow US policy. Any policies include invasions of Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya or any countries the USA does not like.

This ambassador is a business man, not a diplomat, who had been working for a long time at a general trading company. Therefore he thinks everything from the viewpoint of money, not from the broad and futuristic perspective.

Badabing (USA) replies to Yasu
Yasuck, if this is not about money, what is it about then? Wasabi? Niwa was appointed to his post because of his business acumen; China is Japan's largest trading partner so a savvy businessman is most suitable. Futuristic perspective? Japan has territorial disputes with Russia, South & North Korea, China, Taiwan & has mired in a stagnate economy so you better tread gingerly or you will be in a heap of gaga. Also, Japan is not a sovereign country, we have 25,000 soldiers on your soil in more than 40 military bases & you will do everything that Uncle Sam tells you to do. Everything, no exceptions, we say & you do as you are told. As for your own futuristic perspective, I do see a Barukumin DNA upgrade in your family.
