外文标题：Tit for tat: India asks US to withdraw diplomat from Delhi
In a swift retaliatory action, India on Friday asked the US Embassy here to withdraw an officer of a rank similar to that of Devyani Khobragade who was asked to leave the US after being indicted for visa fraud and making false statements.
Government sources said India has reason to believe that this officer was involved in processes relating to Khobragade case and subsequent unilateral action by US.
Devyani Khobragade 被控签证欺诈和虚假陈述后被要求离开美国，印度周五迅速作出报复行动，要求美国驻德里大使馆撤走一名同级别的外交官。
On a day of dramatic developments, Khobragade was indicted for visa fraud and making false statements by a grand jury in New York which held that the charges against her will remain even as she headed back to India after being accorded full diplomatic immunity.
The US request to India to waive her diplomatic immunity was refused following which she was asked to leave the country.
Just childess behavior. You poked me therefore I have to poke too.

USA never in its wildest dreams would have envisioned India playing hardball on this issue.

This could have repercussions on the bilateral relations, there should have been a way of negotiations to resolve this.
India should charge americans who break law and put them in jail !!!! all this is not enough it seems. take more strict actions.

bravo Indian politicians!! u have always been defenders, not attackers.
Sometimes when you get a slap , instead of showing the other side of the face to get a fresh slap , just slap back with even more force ......let the emotions ooze out. with this even the truth will boil out
Wait and see.
Indian govt has lost its mind.....what else can u expect from a party headed by Rahul baba....
The US govt. Is not childish to treat Indians in this country any different than other nationalities. It is a land of NO DISCRIMINATION. Please note that!

This is a norm in the diplomatic world. One side acts the other reacts in exactly equal measure. It is universal phenomenon. Nothing to get angry or pleased about.

The Indian Government has gone mad. The question is whether it's the political class or the bureaucrats behind this sort of silly behaviour to save a criminal like Cobra.

Had India acted in a similar manner long back, such a situation would not have arisen today. Hope India stops projecting herself to be a soft country from now on.

There are many more Indian NRI's in USA then what they have in India. This stand is childish and will back fire if not stopped now. So many Indians apply for VISA to USA they all will be impacted. We made a mistake and now we are making one again. This issue is over as Devyani is coming back home, there is no need to poke USA.

Rather India should send another diplomat/consular general to US in place of Devyani !!
