India can’t even build a bridge that will last atleast a 100 years and is dreaming of bullet train.
Mahatma Gandhi setu which was opened in 1982 is falling apart with virtually half of it closed.
There is no repair or replacement program.
If such things keep on happening just imagine what will happen to passengers traveling at very high speed.
this what indian media is about!
by charan raj (View MyPage) on Jun 16, 2011 06:41 PM
in india media is the main tool to make people negative in india’s development progress. we should stop making positive image of other countries (china, usa,uk etc). media should try to publish indian positive developments than negative. if you see china media rules and compare with indian media rules. indian media is misusing the right what they have given.

Self-Contained-Toilets required on Indian trains :
by archana (View MyPage) on Jun 16, 2011 06:25 PM | Hide replies
On board all of its trains, India needs to introduce aircraft-like Self-Contained-Toilets, with vacuum-assisted-flushing technology.
There are currently some poor Indians employed by the Indian Railways to clear the tracks within the railway-stations, of any excrement that has been dumped from the toilets onto the tracks below.
In the year 2011, the emerging Superpower India cannot employ its citizens to carry out such a dehumanizing task.

Majority Indians don’t know how to use ordinary western toilets, let alone self-contained toilets like airplanes.
They squat on the commode seat and wash, LOL 🙂 The result is a wet mess.
Also we use excess water, so self-contained system will not work..
Hum nahin sudhrenge 🙂

you cartoon, what do you mean by “even a country like china can build high speed quality rail service”? do you mean that china is like bangladesh or pakistan? it is the second largest economy in the world after usa, having surpassed japan in 2010. moreover if you do not know english spellings, do not project your idiocy.”country” written as “coutry”,”bureaucracy” as “burocracy”.

China’s high-speed railway network is the largest already
by Raj Gupta (View MyPage) on Jun 16, 2011 12:33 PM
At the end of 2010, China’s operational high-speed railways reached more than 8,000 km, and is more than all the other countries combined.
Some important new lines will go to operation this year, such as the Beijing-Shanghai line( More than 1,300km long). China will finish Beijing-Wuhan line (more than 1,200km) this year and will connect the operational Wuhan-Guangzhou line (1,000km long)to make a longest high-speed railway (2,200km).
China’s railways don’t meet the demand, so China decided to build new lines. Instead of building the slow railways (actually, large part of China’s railway allow trains to run at >160km/hour), China builds high-speed lines paralling to old lines. In this way, China will seperated the passanger transportation with the cargo transportation to boost the efficiencies, and also release the capacity of the old lines to cargo movement. This is a very wise solution.

No need for High Speed trains in India
by ashok kumar (View MyPage) on Jun 16, 2011 11:34 AM | Hide replies
No need for High Speed trains in India!!! Invest in Freight corridors instead!!! Also, for interstate travel, invest more in airports and buying planes!!! Air travel is fine!!! America didnt build super fast trains and is a Superpower!!! High speed trains are a drain on the exchequer!!! More airports and more planes can do the job instead!!!

by SURESH HOOLI (View MyPage) on Jun 16, 2011 10:37 AM | Hide replies
I think all of you gusy are reading too much into the High speed rail which China built. Not many are hearing about the slowing down in the futuire investments in High speed rail. It has become so expensive to travel that trains are running empty. Just like their skyscrapers which were built at a rocket pace and are now empty and standing with a Ghostly appearance. So be thankful where you are and that we are not in a position where we build and don’t use. Also all those out there who blame politics and politicians please step forward and challenge them in the open . That shows you want to do something

The trains are rip-off of Japanese Kawasaki’s Bullet trains , driven in a staright line to get higher speeds .Like the Great Leap Forward and the Cultural Revolution , China is full of lies , so please take everything with a mounatin of Salt .
However we in India are moving in the other direction : only Biharis and Bengalees run trains ( actually they are only for Mastard employment ) and they compete to see who can run it slower , new speed is Mamata @ 1 Km /per Singur day ! Maybe these states should leave the Indian Union .
