原文标题：Haryana govt announces Rs 1 crore for Saina Nehwal
CHANDIGARH: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Saturday announced a cash award of Rs 1 crore to ace shuttler Saina Nehwal after she won a bronze medal at the London Olympics.
Hooda congratulated Nehwal for winning the medal and said that she had made the state and the country proud.
22-year-old Nehwal earned India its third medal at the Games, clinching a bronze under fortuitous circumstances as her opponent and world number two Xin Wang of China conceded the third-place play off match due to a knee injury after winning the first game.
Hooda said that Nehwal’s rare feat will inspire the budding talents.
The chief minister had earlier said that he has high hopes from the sportspersons from Haryana including boxer Vijender Singh, who is also part of the Indian contingent.
Earlier, shooter Gagan Narang, whose ancestors hail from Panipat, brought laurels to the state by winning a bronze. A cash award of Rs 1 crore was announced for him as well by the state government.
No doubt Saina is a very good player.Sachin Tendulkar called it a terrific performance.Haryana CM announced a cash reward of Rs One Crore.I fail to understand why so much celebration ! She won not by her terrific performance but because her opponent Xin Wang left the game due to injury.
Bhupinder Singh Hooda is giving away the tax payer’s money as if he owns it. When will the Indians learn to say no to this and other whimsical (criminal!) actions of politicians?
Rediculous .She never deserves this because she is a professional player. She earns hell a lot of money from the game.Hooda will say it is part of the reforms .

Thank you Haryana Government for encouraging the winners
Very well deserved reward but not enough. How much is the center rewarding the medal winners? All states must reward these great Indians because they played for the entire country.
The money is not Haryana CM’s it belongs to taxpayers. This ad hoc decision of giving this money is it self unlawful, corrupt and uniquely Indian. This seems so inane.
we really proud of u sir for encouraging such kind of talented players. saina is eligible for the medal. and she made india as proud
Must be black money. Why any one gives one crore for a player who never even played and could have been defeated any ways
You are an ignorant and negative person. You can’t predict the future and it’s not over till it’s over yet – haven’t you watched the Rocky movies uncle Sam?
You go Saina, you made India proud. Good Luck. Time and again you have performed at the highest levels and won the Indonesian Open, the All England Open. You never let this success get to your head and worked hard and continued to perform, compared to others who thrive more on glamour vs. performance. You are awesome and a shining star. May God bless you.
