外文标题：Chinese woman manager who stole $82m nabbed in Fiji
BEIJING: An insurance executive who fled Shanghai after stealing $82 million from her company has been nabbed in Fiji. The executive, dubbed "beautiful woman manager" by the local media, has been escorted back to Shanghai.
The executive, Chen Yi, has been accused of using her charms to persuade customers to buy investment schemes without authorization from her employer, the Shanghai Fanxin Insurance Agency, worth 500 million yuan ($82 million).
The money went into her bank account without the company getting any wiser or richer, sources said. The Shanghai police used the assistance of Interpol to track her down in Fiji. Authorities of the South Pacific island nation of Fiji also cooperated in her return, the official Xinhua news agency said.
Several Chinese bankers and insurance executives, who have been accused of large scale siphoning of funds have fled and settled in different parts of the world. Western governments routinely turn down Chinese request to send back officials facing investigation on the ground that they may be given capital punishment, which they oppose.
A worried China Insurance Regulatory Commission said in a statement that it would cooperate with police investigation and take additional measures to protect the interests of consumers. The case has drawn attention to insufficient controls on sale of wealth management products, which offer higher returns than bank deposits and securities.
Looks like this executive did not have any relative or boyfriend in CCP.

If she did this in India she would have got away with it nicely, but what makes this woman thinks she can get way with the scam of 500 million yuan in China then en route to Fiji is beyond me? She would have had better chance if she simultaneously scam and do something bad enough to the Chinese authority to qualified for political asylum status, then seek protection in US Embassy.

It is nothing compared to India.
Our criminals do not have to abscond to Fiji or any other nation. They can live right among us and become ministers.

She chose the wrong destination. She should have fled into the jungles of the Amazon where no one would have traced her. But then the money she stole would be of no use to her in the jungle

Yes, this called the intelligence of a country. If the same thing had happened in India, God know what they would have done. China has placed two examples as to how they handle corruption. The corrupt Indians should learn a lesson from them.
