原文标题：China warns Philippines against shooting down drones
BEIJING: China on Thursday warned the Philippines against taking any military action against its drones deployed to monitor the disputed islands in the resource-rich South China Sea.
Reacting to remarks by a spokesman of the Philippine Department of National Defence (DND) warning that Chinese drones may be shot at if they enter airspace of Huangyan island called by Manila as Scarborough Shoal, Chinese defence ministry spokesman, Yang Yujun said “China is opposed to any military provocation in the South China Sea.”
Yang defended China using drones to monitor disputed islands saying that move is “justified and legal,”, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
China has indisputable sovereignty over Huangyan Island, the Nansha Islands and their adjacent waters, it said.
“Therefore, Chinese aircraft flying in the airspace in question is justified and legal,” he said.
China’s State Oceanic Administration said on Sunday that China will use drones to strengthen the nation’s marine surveillance, and step up efforts to enhance its surveillance of the islands and islets including the Diaoyu and Huangyan.
Tension flared in April when the two countries’ ships faced-off over the Scarborough Shoal islands. Both sides later agreed to withdraw their boats, thereby restoring calm.
China claims sovereignty over nearly all of the South China Sea, which is believed to have huge reserves of oil and gas, and is home to key shipping lanes vital to global trade.
However, the Philippines, Brunei, Malaysia, Vietnam and Taiwan also have claims to parts of the sea, some of them overlapping.

I dnt undeerstand.. China has this problem with each and every country – “indisputable sovereignty”???? It speaks for itself when one has problem with many ones. Does it want whole world to be its property?

Chinese drones are as good a military provocation as are anyone else knocking them down. Maybe the communists of China have got too old to do any sound thinking. Perhaps too much of bloodshed in Tibet and Xianjiang has coloured their thoughts deep in red

Saw one documentary about Chinese people in Europe ( not censored version, unlike in India), what astonished me most the attitude of there population, which feels that communist govt. foreign policies are too weak ( despite govt. provocation in the region of claiming parts of India, South China Sea, islands in Japan etc) and they exepect more strong govt. policies. So even these communist got. Gives way to young Chinese population, expect more action then peaceful solution.

China is forgetting that the Japanese brutalized them in WW2. A much smaller country raped and pillaged them and China would still be part of Japan if the US didn’t help the Chinese… Now they talk like a superpower… and countries like India tremble. Its time someone sunk a Chinese ship… just to see how they react.

South China Sea BELONGS to the SOUTHEAST ASIAN claimant countries. China has no business claiming territories belonging to the Southeast Asians Claimants. China needs to stay within its mainland borders and stop stealing territories from their rightful owners.

There are Hundreds of islands in the Indian ocean just like the South china sea. The Indian ocean also has lots of resources that can be exploited. Why do they belong to China ? Just becaause China has an old map that says that they belong to China ?? Genghis Khan has old map that says Beijing belong to Mongolia, when are you going to vacate Beijing ??

China is bully that must be dealt with. All nations that have a border dispute with China must form an allegiance and kill this double headed snake. India, Mongolia, Japan, Vietnam, Phillipines can form a formidable force that will not only break it millitarily but cripple it economically. Just the thought of this scenario would send a strong signal to the Chinks.

few days back Japan, now Philippines, previously Burma, before that Vietnam, Taiwan on regular basis….. list will go on increasing as china will gain more power in trade and arms…. and those countries who r praising now a days china like Pakistan, Iran, Venezuela will cry foul when china will attack them…. we should stop china before it will roar more…….
Agree (4)Disagree (7)Recommend (0)
China is intentionally escalating the issue because it knows that other countries will back down out of fear. This is typical thuggery and criminal behavior, not the behavior of a responsible nation. China is using non-military vessels to make its claims without actually using violence. This is a clever strategy but one that is bound to fail because, other nations can use the same strategy and start a unoffical war in the region while official military vessels are not involved at all. Besides the South China sea is a very congested place, if a terrorist group takes over a Chinese oil tanker and blows it up, China will have only itself to blame as it would be an unofficial move! Just like Pakistan is using terrorists to trouble Afghanistan, China is using civilian “law enforcement” agencies to trouble South China Sea nations.
