Despite killings, China to go ahead with economic corridors with India, Pakistan
BEIJING: China said on Wednesday it was going ahead with plans to build two economic corridors, one connecting Pakistan and another reaching India via Myanmar and Bangladesh. The statement comes after increased terrorist activity, which is regarded as a major bottleneck in the corridors project.
Terrorists from China's Xinjiang region, which borders Pakistan, moved over 2,000 kms to Kunming in Yunnan province to carry out mass knifings on Saturday. The attack left 33 dead and 130 injured.
The incident has cast a shadow on the proposed Bangladesh-China- India-Myanmar (BCIM) economic corridor, which begins at Kunming because Xinjiang terrorists have demonstrated their ability to infiltrate in this border province as well. Another corridor, China-Pakistan link, begins in terrorist hit Xinjiang and enters the Taliban-controlled areas of Pakistan posing a serious challenge to planned infrastructure and business in the sector.
But Chinese premier Li Keqiang made it clear that he was going ahead with both the plans. Presenting his work report to the parliament, Li said China would “advance neighbourhood diplomacy" and "speed up" infrastructure links with neighbours. He specifically mentioned plans to build a BCIM economic corridor and a China- Pakistan corridor.
After the Kunming killings, Chinese police and security experts said that Xinjiang terrorists chose Yunnan province because it offers good hiding opportunities in the border region connecting Vietnam and Myanmar. Yunnan also has a large Muslim population and borders the restive region of Tibet.
Among those who condemned the Kunming killings is Pakistan's Jamiat Ulema Islam party, which is known to have contacts with the Taliban. The party's leader, Maulana Fazalur Rahman, met the Chinese ambassador, Sun Weidong, in Islamabad, to express his support for China's efforts in tackling terrorism.
He also asked China to intensify efforts to build the economic corridor because it will bring a lot of benefits to the people of Pakistan. Sun responded saying, "I appreciate the vision shared by Maulana to build economic zones and develop economy in the region."

Good news now China is also feeling the heat of the terrorist well late then never .
China has the will and ability to crush these Islamic terrorists unlike India and thus the economic corridor will be a successful project.
Bangladesh-China-India-Myanmar (BCIM) economic corridor, which begins at Kunming will be , hopefully a great boon to the development of Eastern part of India. This will bring the countries like Vietnam, very near India. Overall the efforts of Chinese need our cooperation and agreement. It will end poverty and bring Eastern India at par with Western India.

Some misguided elements got involved in the killings of innocent people. The development should not be stopped for that reason.

Another article about finance and the brutal Chinese Communist Party. Never a word concerning the true nature of the cruel CCP. The Chinese Communist Party has more than a million of its comrades monitoring the internet because if it allowed its people to learn the truth concerning the millions of atrocities that it has committed since 1949, all the top leaders would either be executed or be put in prison. The brutal Chinese Communist Party has murdered over fifty million of its own people since 1949, since 1999 it has been attempting the blood-thirsty genocide of the tens of millions of innocent Falun Gong who live in Mainland China. To this end, the heinous CCP is using torture, slavery, organ harvesting and murder. Because of corporate greed, these atrocities and millions of others have been kept from the Western people by the Western media. The weak United Nations even appointed the brutal CCP a seat on its Human Rights Council this year. Shameful. Thank you for your concern.

Shameful might be your attempt marginalize the suffering of innocent victims of a terrorist attack and further your own, by now rather zealous agenda.

These "corridors" will later be used to transport Chinese troops. How STUPID India is to allow this.

Can India really has the ability to stop all this?? When rape becomes inevitable then relax and enjoy......that is the final destination for India. Blackies have worked very hard to become enemies with 2 deadly nuclear powered neighbors.

You think India can stop all this happening?? India can't even stop 20-25 Chinese army intruders fingering India on regular basis. There is huge number of Chinese regular troops in POK for the last many years, lets see if India can do something about it!
