I have been to Hallstatt and it is one of the most beautiful places on earth. Hallstatt is simply about nature: beautiful mountains and a a lake in the valley with amazing forests all around, including a salt mine on top of a mountain.
On the contrary, this village looks like a cheap copy with a small dirty pond (not lake) and red / brown mountains instead of the green or white (depending on summer or winter) ones. The place appears hardly gifted with nature and the businessmen, for some reason, forgot nature but decided to paint the houses with colors - believing them to be the main feature of Hallstatt.
This really appears as a Chinese copy of the "real" thing and what amazes me more is the idi0tic bloggers here who are criticising India and praising China for this "marvel". The state of mind of people in this blog rather explains what ills India than anything else.

The whole point is at least these Chinese are willing to copy good things and offer it to the people. On the other hand we don't have any such thing copied or made indigenously and worst thing is people like you can't appreciate anything and worth only chest-beating for nothing. And it's the Indian media which has reported the article so it's absolutely irrelevant for you to compare it.

Oh yeah I forgot about the Indian "marvel" in the planning commission which was recently renovated at very little cost of Rs.35 lakhs...
Accept the reality rather than trumpeting about our ancient history and other nonsenses.

@krazy .. u fool ..China doesn't have the leadership and vision of Shri. Manmohan Ji and Smt. Sonia Ji. Money is not the only thing. Honesty and integrity are part of our culture and both these Congress stalwarts are beacon of honesty and truth.
not the first

Near Shenzhen earlier the Chinese made a replica of Interlaken the famous Swiss resort. Now in the same area a replica of an Austrian village has come up. Earlier, prior to the World Expo 2010 @ Shanghai three replicas of British,German & Swedish colonies were built. Similarly prior to Beijing Olympic 2008 replicas of American,Italian & Dutch colonies were built. Actually these are not illegal because the architect involved is from that same country and the Chinese businessman getting it constructed pays them, & recovers the money from tourism.
where are the lawyers

A weird thought occured ,can't Austria patent this to prevent copying? If not who knows China has the might to create all World heritage sites at one place and sell themselves as "See us See the world"

Though copied it's of good value to its citizens. India on the other hand is neither good indigenously nor good in copying. We are good in corruption from grass root level. We have 1 Anna for every million people, read 1 uncorrupt against a million corrupts. So how can we get rid of corruption?? Answer is its near impossible. Lets live with it...
