外文标题：China calls for an end to fighting in South Sudan
BEIJING (Reuters) – China has called for all sides in the South Sudan conflict to stop fighting, China’s foreign ministry said, just as the U.N. Security Council approved plans to almost double the number of peacekeepers in the world’s newest country.
The conflict in South Sudan has killed hundreds and some 45,000 civilians are seeking protection at U.N. bases. Violence erupted in the capital, Juba, on December 15 and quickly spread, dividing the land-locked country of 10.8 million people along ethnic lines.
The fighting has also affected oil production, which accounts for 98 percent of government revenue in South Sudan. It has forced Chinese state-owned China National Petroleum Company, a major oil investor in South Sudan, to evacuate some of its workers.
China’s foreign ministry said in a statement late on Tuesday that deputy foreign minister Zhang Ming had said China is playing close attention to the conflict and the impact it was having on South Sudan’s neighbors.
“As South Sudan’s friend and partner, China calls on all sides of the conflict to … immediately cease hostile actions, and open negotiations as soon as possible”, the statement quoted Zhang as saying.
China should send Peacekeepers to South Sudan and Central African Republic.
it does.but has recently african nation have put more emphasis on taking charges of most of those missions by supplying the manpower with the backing of the UN
Should the US even care?
China should just shut up and does what it should do: stop stealing and robbing other Southeast Asia maritime land. The Chinese are always have big mouths.
Philipino? When China claimed south China sea, Philipin was not even an independent country, and had never been before.
Well, guess it’s time to quit fighting. China said to stop.
China worried about people or money?
Both. Peace is good for people and money.
wouldnt the same apply to all the other countries voicing their opinions on this
Perhaps, but China is well know for it’s stance on not interfering with the internal issues of nations. Seems they have changed their minds, now that they have a stake in it.
I call for an end to China.

Not sure what China can do about it.
Martina. You are speaking out your ash! China is sht country with no direction in foreign policy and only a tiger against its people and neighbors in Asia that is soon going to regret every aggressive action it has taken against its neighbors.
The world calls for an end to the occupation of Tibet.
