原文标题：China to India: Ensure safety of our citizens
NEW DELHI: China on Friday asked India to enhance protection of its citizens in the wake of rape of a Chinese girl in the capital. The Chinese embassy asked the government to deal with the incident "seriously".
"On Feb 7th, Indian local news reported that a Chinese woman was raped in New Delhi. Right after noticing this incident, the Chinese embassy in India verified with the relevant Indian authority and made representation to the Indian side, pointing out that the Chinese Embassy pays great attention to this case," Chinese embassy said here.
China "requests India to take it seriously, assure the safety, legal rights and privacy of the victim, appropriately handle the case and enhance protection of Chinese citizens in India to prevent such incidents," the embassy said.

Chinese should understand that they shall be mistaken as Nepalis or other north eastern people who are more prone to harrassment than others. As such North India is not safe for anyone.
