外文标题：China and Southeast Asia to experience tourism boom
China, Vietnam and Myanmar have been named as up-and-coming powerhouses poised to lead the global tourism industry.
That’s the synopsis of more than 1,200 senior travel executives polled in a major trendspotting report released at the World Travel Market (WTM) in London this week.
"Asia is clearly the continent with the greatest travel and tourism potential,” said WTM senior director Simon Press. “China leads the way due to its 1.354 billion people, but there is a long list of Asian countries with great potential.”
The latest figures out of the UN’s World Tourism Organization reveals that international visitor numbers were up in Asia and the Pacific by six percent in the first six months of 2013. That figure rises to 7 percent in south Asia, and 12 percent in Southeast Asia.
China also surpassed the US and Germany to become the largest spender in international tourism in 2012: Chinese tourists dished out $102 billion USD -- a whopping eight-fold increase since 2000, and a 40 percent spike from 2011.
The nine countries identified as major tourist destinations across Asia are, in order:

The World Travel Market opened Monday in London and wraps up November 7. The four-day trade event is expected to attract nearly 48,000 attendees.
Just spent a month in Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. I like South East Asia better than Europe. There is nothing unsafe on the roads that I encountered with. About the values, the same amount of money last you one week in Europe will last 4 times that much in South East Asia.
how much did you pay for the trip
Most ppl don't realize that the pollution are only limited to select few metropolitan cities like Beijing, just a few miles out of the city, the sky is as blue as it is anywhere else, as of most of the non-metro cities.....ignorant
Boycott China, do not travel to China.
It easier to boycott yourself than boycott China. We love to travel there.
It looks like the Chinese are hell bent on destroying their own country and history by pollution and dam destruction. What's left to see?
China has learned capitalism at a staggering rate. They will do their industrial revolution and get to environmental responsibility also, at a far faster pace than we did. I visited their 3 Gorges project on the Yangtse a few years back. Its design was to minimize the tragedies its flooding had customarily experienced, increase navigability and produce hydro power What they accomplished on this project, could not have been done here in less than several generations, although the verdit on its environmental impact is still pending. Being able to exercise eminent domain, manually clear the waterfront, evacuate
I love the southeast Asian shemales!
I love to see haters whine here. China is getting better everyday and your nation is going downhill every moment.
You mean getting more polluted! Can you see across the street today? lol
Beware of the meals, served on the traditional Chinese sailing ships…….it's all junk food.
McDonald or Burger King??
Why not North Korea? Rodman seems to think it is a cool place to visit.
Why don't you go first and tell us all about it!!!
First, they need electricity, food and clothing
it wasn't too bad when I was there last year, but then again I was only there for about an hour.
Anyone in the know knows that China is going to implode within 10 years.
