Simply wow!!
by me critic (View MyPage) on Jul 02, 2011 01:05 PM | Hide repliesWhen will India have one? Here Shatabdi that has a speed of 80 km/hour is called "super fast" :) so what next?

Re: Simply wow!!
by Pravin Panicker (View MyPage) on Jul 02, 2011 01:24 PM
Just to correct... Fastest Indian train is the Bhopal Shatabdi with MPS 160 kmph. Rajdhani - 140, Shatabdi 120/130, Superfast trains 110. We need bullet trains but need a cost effective solution which would not be as costly as flying. Laying better tracks, double lines or more and electrifying existing network can have our trains moving at 200 kmph . Or new engines are capable of that. Delhi Mumbai would be just over 10 hrs. Isnt an overnight train journey at existing fares better than a costly bullet train for a common Indian?

Re: Re: Simply wow!!
by rajiv kumar (View MyPage) on Jul 02, 2011 01:47 PM
Pravin don t confuses...... First correct yourself before offering to correct others... No Rajdhani runs on average speed of 140.... Most of them run below 100.. (Average Speed i.e. Distance / Total TIme Taken) On an average Indian Fast or Superfast trains run on 50.... May be on some track Rajdhani acheives a KMPH of 120... Byt remember the average speed is still below 100

Re: Re: Simply wow!!
by me critic (View MyPage) on Jul 02, 2011 01:44 PM
You are referring to max speed but the average speed of Shatabdi is 80 km/hour. Yes you are right that India requires better track for operating trains in 120-200 kmph range

every one blamed India leaders/Gov

every one blamed India leaders/Gov...
After all, the leaders/gov were elected by Indian people though.

I think India has a good polical system, but just Indian people are not capable though. National average IQ of indians is just too low in comparing with Eastern Aisans....

I bet if Eastern Asian such China, Japan and Koria had same polical system and same type of leaders as India does, then India will still far behind....just look into every aspect, such as sports, education, etc...

Basically the public is corrupt. The politicians & the govt servants are among us only. So the entire system is corrupt. There is no point in blaming the politicians alone...

This is exactly the reason that india can not beat China. Chinese PM and all their ministers are educated in Chinese university. Therefore they are trained to understand China and Chinese people, Chinese culture, the way of Chinese thinking and the way that Chinese do things. Oxford, Yale and Harvard are excellent but...........

by sprnda@rediffmail.com (View MyPage) on Jul 01, 2011 04:48 AM

By 2016, commuters from Meerut will benefit from a direct link to Sarai Kale Khan, which will help them reach the Capital in less than 70 minutes. The high-speed rail link will run through 17 stations, covering approximately 90 km from Modipuram, and terminate at Sarai Kale Khan, which is being developed as a major transport hub.

India can also do all these things
by Merwyn Mendonca (View MyPage) on Jul 01, 2011 03:03 AM | Hide replies

Need to change the constitution of India.
No minister should be above 50 years of age. Young blood can do all things possible. No corruption. If any one does he should be hanged to death. Only first 5 corrupted will die. From 6th on wards will have the fear of death.
Govt should declare the projects worth USD 2-5 trillions to make India @ No.1 spot by 2035.

All projects should have single windows clearence. Award whatever possible projects to Indian companies and rest bring Chinese to build them at lower prices. Every Rupee should be Accountable. Within few years India can be No.01. Build more roads & expand rivers. Water is very important to a growth of a Economy like India. Can we do it ???????????????????

They can set india world leader only in scams.

We Indians can not see these types of trains even after 200 years, because our Govt. is pumping 50% of countries wealth to Kashmir and that money directly reaches to Muslim terrorists.

China's grand projects are not for the present
by Ramadas (View MyPage) on Jun 30, 2011 06:04 PM | Hide replies

China does not operate like any normal country. It is like one man owning a large landmass. In this case it is the CCP. For the outside world, it has many faces; like Lenovo, Huawei or haier etc.

It is the only country in the world that can afford to leave 64 million homes unoccupied. No housing bubbles had taken place despite this. No realestate companies has gone bust too.

It has miles and miles of highways but not enough traffic to use them. Its highspeed railway is not affordable to ordinary people.

China is like a man using up his own natural resources to mass produce items for the world market and sells at a price nobody can compete; it is not for profit but to pile up foreign exchange. It is not bothered whether the buying country is able to pay; it is a buy now pay later policy.

Within China, it mass produces for its people. But the people have to slave for whatever they want; nothing is given away for free.

Their system is such no Chinese company goes bankrupt except for foreign owned companies.

A time will come when China will have everything the west have. But not the people who can afford to use them. When the people can afford to use them, all the structures will be in a crumbling state or with outdated technology.

my dear ramadass, from where did you get this figure of 64 million households being unoccupied. i frequently(@ leat 3-4 times a year) travel to china for business purposes & have visited more than 15 of their major & medium cities, n0 where have i seen unoccupied buildings/flats.these are western media propaganda who are jealous & fear than china is growing @ 10% growth rate whereas their growth rate is hardly 1.5% or otherwise in some cases negative.they fear that someday in future china will surpass them, & since it is in the opposite camp & not dependent on western technology the jealousy is more.

Southern railways---
by kaka kishacha (View MyPage) on Jun 30, 2011 05:37 PM | Hide replies

It shameful for our central govts, (which mostly consisted of congies) that we have a single line track on one of our main trunk railway route from Sholapur towards Chennai. Bridges on this line are dated back to British raj & hence speeds of trains are seriously hampered. Only for this reason there's no 'Super fast expresses' like Shatabdi plying between Mumbai & Chennai - nor there has been any addition of new trains on this line for last so many years, whereas we in mumbai have new trains from UP / Bihar every year.

Re: Southern railways---
by kaka kishacha (View MyPage) on Jun 30, 2011 05:41 PM
People blaming BJP & Opposition socialists must keep in mind that it was during Janata Party rule, Kokan Railway was born & implemented. The proposal was earlier shelved by congies on the pretext that the beneficiary region was not supporting them.

Indian King AKBAR built TAJ MAHAL, no less way back in 1605, China has NOT been able to build anything remotely as beautiful as Taj Mahal EVEN NOW.

How's that for a fact ?

Re: Re: What is bullet train compared to our bullockcart speed tr

its not Akbar.. Shah Jahan..

Re: Re: What is bullet train compared to our bullockcart speed tr

Please compare apples with apples. We are neither living in 17th Century nor should we rest on laurels of Mughals or others. What is the current state of the union? That is what we should care about. By the way, please get your facts correct. Taj Mahal was never built by Akbar, they are of two different eras. Shah Jahan 'commissioned' it, I wouldn't say he literally built the Taj Mahal.
