Elon Musk lays foundation of $7 billion Tesla plant in China
BEIJING: The US electric car maker Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Monday laid the foundation of a $7 billion plant in Shanghai, becoming the first company to benefit from a new Chinese policy of allowing foreign vehicle manufacturers to set up wholly-owned subsidiaries in the Asian nation.
The plant, which is Tesla's first outside the US, is located at Lingang, a high-end manufacturing park in the southeast harbour of Shanghai.
It has an annual production capacity of 500,000 electric cars.

Dhat Teri Ki
money talks bs walks. musk will only invest in India if there is infrastructure and returns.none of which are there currently. unfortunately has nothing to do with stealing tech. BYD already has EVs in the same Calibre.
Shame that an US automobile company is investing so much money in a communist nation! The Chinese will now rob Musk blind by copying all the technology, and would start making clones of his coveted car!

Since we have become so business friendly within 4 years, sad Tesla did not invest and setup the company in India. With so much going for us still we do not seem to attract major investment like China, we need to do a SWOT analysis and find solutions. Instead of building statues, creating quotas and other brainless tricks for vote banks!
