火车上看峡谷

The train reached its destination a couple of minutes ahead of scheduled time. The Lijiang station was not the old one that it was back in 2010 when I traveled on the Express train route which was inaugurated in 2009 but it had been renovated.

火车比预定时间提前几分钟到达了目的地。丽江火车站并不是我2010年乘坐时的旧车站，已经经过了翻修。

虎跳峡

Further extension to the county of Shangri-La is under way and it is expected to reach Lhasa in a decade’s time. It is never an easy project to lay train tracks on steep, majestic mountains. One can say, it is harder than spaceship programs or deep ocean explorations, to some extent because it requires as high technical skill, scientific research and expertize. However, communications and logistics are reckoned as the very foundation of social development and are the kernel for transforming this once neglected province, lagging far behind the coastal China.

延伸到香格里拉县的铁路正在修建中，预计10年后能通到拉萨。在陡峭而雄伟的山上铺设铁轨绝非易事。有人会说，这比宇宙飞船项目或深海探险更困难，在某种程度上是因为它需要高技术、科学研究和专家论证。然而，交通和物流被认为是社会发展的根本基础，是转变这个一度被忽视的省份的核心，这个省曾远远落后于中国沿海地区。

Then, There I was! On the square before this outstanding station of rich national characteristics.

然后，我就到了!火车站具有浓郁的民族特色。

Jade Dragon Snow Mountain stood afar, 20km from my location, nevertheless it was so spectacular with the sunset radiating the summit above the snow line that it took my breath away. The whole mountain was lit up like a dazzling volcano. I was there at last after 36 Hours without a sound sleep and every minute of wakefulness was worth a thousand dreams..............

玉龙雪山离我的位置有20公里远，但它是如此壮观，夕阳在山顶上方的雪线上闪耀着光芒，我不禁屏住呼吸。整座山像一座令人眼花缭乱的火山一样被照亮了。我在那里度过了36个小时，没有睡好觉，每一分钟的清醒都抵得上千万个梦。
