It is a supersonic stealth cruise missile, jointly developed by India and Russia.

The Chinese PLAN operates at least four Sovremennyy-class destroyers that carry the Moskit (NATO: “Sunburn”) anti-ship missikes. While different from the Brahmos missile, these are at least in the same class.
Weight is 9900 lbs at launch with a 710 lb conventional armor piercing or 120 KT nuclear warhead. The missile has a range of around 150 miles at an altitude of 60 ft above sea level and a speed of Mach 3.
Weight is about 6600 lbs with a 440 lb conventional or nuclear warhead. The missile has a range of up to 280 miles with possible extension from ongoing development. Speed is also up to Mach 3. Apparently the major new feature if this missile is the ability to fly out to the target area at high altitude conserving fuel and extending range, then to dive to a very low altitude 10–15 feet over the water for final attack.
This extremely low attack altitude decreases the initial possible detectionrange by any given sensor (ie at the radar horizon) by approximately 5 miles. Inbound at M3, every second of earlier detection is critical for ship defenses.
