Which is the safest country if World War III happens?
Matt Vangogh, Celsius Military History and Wars & Ethics, Vassar College (1998)
In the 60s the United States had the power to destroy the entire world ten times over.
Russia had only the power to destroy once-over and that's all it took
the answer of your question is there really isn't a safe country however Switzerland would be ideal because it's high up and surrounded by mountains maybe that will shield blast effects.
I would say some small islands and countries like Iceland (No one wants to invade it), Canada (Very big country, north should be safe), Nordic countries (Finland not so much). Also US if nuclear war doesnt break out.
Tonka Goldman, M.S. Geology & Science, University of New England, Australia
It depends upon the number of nuclear weapons that actually detonate. If the world arsenal of around 16000 nukes go off then nuclear winter would block out the sun and kill everything on the planet. Until then, I would say the southern tip of New Zealand would be the best chance you would have.
The simple answer is that in the event of nuclear war between the USA and Russia then depending on the amount of warheads used there quite probably wouldn’t be a safe country anywhere on the planet. Even if it was a limited exchange of 500 warheads each it would still cause havoc worldwide, at the same time causing the temperature of the earth to drop etc so even though you might think a country would be idylic and safe the reality is that it would be idylic, but still be affected by the results of the exchange of missiles.

Nowhere. Eventually the radiation will cover the entire planet. Secondly unless you were inside a fully blast-proof, concrete bunker wayyy underground…you’d end up irradiated and dead in a matter of months.
Elaine Peters, studied M.A. Health and Human Services Administration & M.S. Telecommunications Management (1995)
There are several places I would prefer to be during a nuclear war, not necessarily in order: New York City, Moscow, London, Los Angeles, etc. Civilization as we know it will be over, and the “survivors” will be dead within a few years at most. I would prefer to be instantly vaporized than live a hellish existence where I would die a slow, fearful, and painful death.
The Mars colony would be relatively safe, since ICBMs can’t make it to Mars, and the Mars colony isn’t much of a military target, being so far away and so impoverished that it really only has resources to look after itself.
Anyplace on Earth will end up irradiated and under 100 years of dark Nuclear Winter, so even if the cities were not destroyed, the farm land would be infertile and the population would be sick and starving.
Leopoldo Fernandez Suarez, BA from Instituto Tecnológico De Buenos Aires (1992)
For the immediate threat that is North Korea to the World, the safest place seems to be Mar Del Plata (Argentina).
But beware: Mar del Plata is full of Argentines

I would put my money on Chile. It is non-aligned, inaccessible, and has abundant natural resources married to powerful productive capacities.
Green land and Antarctica

I think nowhere will be safe … If the is in war most of the countries will also be in war because of NATO alliance .. An attack on One is an attack on all of them …So Autralia is a NATO member so they will be fighting Russia .. and Russia will also bomb them up …including new zealand ….and then no countries in Europe will be safe ..include north america …..

Iceland. It is isolated and very neutral. Almost impossible that they will be involved in WW3.
Neel Kumar, Software Engineering Manager
Mars. Or maybe Jupiter.
If there is a World War 3, human habitation on Earth will come to a sudden and abrupt end.

I have three places :1.) Switzerland 2.) Kazakhstan 3.) Siberia

I remember that someone asked Einstein:what do you think about the third WW?
And Einstein said:I don't know the third WW but I know the fourth WW will fight with stone and timer stick.(means no where are safe and human have to start their civilization from the Stone Age LOL)

No country would be safe, worse is when there is a nuclear war.
David Styles, Artist, Custom Models at Self-Employment (2014-present)
poly a country in Africa or South America since these are int he Southern Hemisphere and there is no country int he southern hemisphere that has nukes or is really targeted for a nuke attack.
Jean-Pierre François, Still finding answers to life.
The country has been neutral for 200+ years, and will be neutral in the future

Probably where I live: New Zealand. If you take a virtual Atlas and spin it so that it is centred on NZ, you see ... a whole lot of water and some ice. It's interesting just how far we are away from everyone.

I would say America only because we are number one we know how to protect our lands
